Half-Day Grand Teton Wildlife Safari Private Tour
Description
We begin this wildlife photo tour by heading north along the western boundary of the National Elk Refuge to Grand Teton National Park. Here we will travel along the southern park roads watching for wildlife and stopping frequently for photo-ops. Wildlife we frequently encounter on this trip includes bison, elk, deer, moose, pronghorn, (aka antelope), fox, coyote, bear, bald eagle, trumpeter swans, and if we’re lucky, wolves. If time allows we might choose to stop at the Jackson Visitor Center or the new Moose visitor center in Grand Teton National Park. The guides at Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris will make every effort to showcase as many highlights as possible, and will structure the day around making your experience a memorable one. They will take current road conditions, weather, seasonality, and your personal interests into consideration as they move through the park.

Pickup Locations & Times
All guests are picked up and returned to their place of lodging. We pick up at hotels, condos and private residences in Jackson and Teton Village. Make sure you notify us of your lodging location at the time of booking. All private safari guests are picked up at 6:30am. Approximate pickup times for Jackson Hole: May - September: 6:30AM, 3:00PM October: 7:00AM, 2:00PM

- For groups of 14 guests or less: We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all single day safaris and a 14-day cancellation policy for all 2-3 day safaris. For multi-day safaris of 4 days or more, we have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a full refund with no penalty. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. For groups of 15 or more guests: We have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a refund minus a 10% fee. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance before your departure to protect you from incurring any costs associated with unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from joining us.

We had an incredible experience with Jeff Sanders as our naturalist guide on a 4-hour wildlife safari in the Grand Tetons. His knowledge of the park comes from many years of personal experience in the area, and it truly showed throughout our tour. Jeff took our family to several beautiful spots away from the crowds, where we were able to enjoy the scenery, observe wildlife, and take amazing photos. We saw so many bison, and his expertise helped us appreciate not only the animals but also the history and ecology of Yellowstone. Jeff was friendly, patient, and passionate about sharing his love for this incredible place. We had a group of 8 and our tour was amazing! Our guide, Becky, was so informed and passionate about the area and the nature. Her enthusiasm and knowledge really helped make the entire experience. She also has an extremely keen eye, spotting wildlife and pointing it out, which we would otherwise not have seen. She really went above and beyond to make the 4 hour experience special for us. The tour really was grand and it also got the small details right - making sure we were all comfortable, binoculars for everyone, great snacks, etc. 10/10 recommend this tour and Becky!

We had high expectations for a half day tour of the Grand Teton after spending 2 great days at Yellowstone with their sister company. Greg, our guide delivered an amazing morning. He is a naturalist but also a great photographer. We saw so many bears at Yellowstone but Greg made sure we saw a bear at the Grand Teton. We were lucky to see elk and sheep. Again Greg’s passion was contagious. He loves what he does. This is a must do tour!!! Thank you Greg!!!

This experience is of high value!!! Chris Irwin “Irwin” arrived early to maximize our time in Grand Teton National Park. Chris was communicative leading up to tour day. He was aware of “current events” in the park. He took us to places we had not seen in park before. No matter how many times you have been in GTNP you should do this. Thank you JHWS and Chris Irwin!! Colin was our guide and he was wonderful!! Friendly, super knowledgeable, accommodating and fun. He knew where to go in the morning to catch wildlife and he did not disappoint. Colin was excellent at sharing his knowledge of the area and wildlife behaviors. Highly recommend. We were picked up at our rental home and he had plenty of snacks.

Amazing Safari with Barry Westenhaver! He wa s able to locate every animal on our list to see! (Moose, Pronghorn Antelope, elk, bison, black bear) His knowledge of the region and the wild life was outstanding and incredibly informative. His service to us was far beyond our expectati ons. We left from the lodge at 7:00 am. We wanted to see elk, bear and moose. Within an hour, Chris got us on both moose and elk. By the time the trip was over, we saw a grizzly and got up close to a black bear. Being first-timers, Chris answered all our questions and was very knowledgeable of the parks.
