Enjoy a scenic coastal drive along Muscat’s most famous beach . Take in the sea breeze, palm-lined shores, and the laid-back atmosphere of this elegant district, a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. In addition, you will try Omani Bread with Karak tea as Omani Hospitality.

Step into the heart of Muscat’s heritage at Muttrah Souq, one of the oldest and most vibrant markets in Oman. Wander through its narrow, winding alleys filled with the scent of frankincense and spices, and experience the authentic atmosphere of traditional Omani life. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to taste the famous Omani Halwa, a delicious local sweet that reflects Oman’s rich flavors and hospitality. Feel the soothing aroma of pure frankincense, known for its calming and spiritual qualities, as you explore the shops around you. Discover the largest gold market in Oman, where glittering jewelry and intricate designs showcase the skill of Omani craftsmanship. Then, step into Ali Baba Silver Shop, one of the oldest and most respected stores in the souq, where you can admire beautifully handcrafted silver treasures and antique pieces.
We’ll pause at Panoramic View of Old Muscat one of the most breathtaking viewpoints overlooking Old Muscat. From here, the scene opens to a picture-perfect view of the majestic Al Alam Palace, the ceremonial residence of His Majesty the Sultan, framed by the iconic Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts standing guard on either side of the bay.
Stop for photos outside the ceremonial palace of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The palace, with its striking blue and gold facade, is flanked by the historic Portuguese forts Jalali and Mirani, making it a stunning backdrop.
Finally , we will drive closer for a dedicated photo stop at the historic Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts. Built in the 16th century by the Portuguese and later restored by the Omanis, these forts stand proudly at the entrance of Muscat’s harbor, symbols of the city’s resilience and heritage. Their commanding presence against the sea and mountains makes for striking photography and a deeper sense of Muscat’s history. Then, we end our day and drop you off where ever you want .

We’ll pick you up directly from your hotel, or anywhere in Muscat city. Just share your location when booking, and we’ll confirm the exact pickup time (usually 15–30 minutes before the tour starts). If you’re staying outside Muscat, no worries — we can arrange a central meeting point. There is a fee for pick up and drop off from Airport and hotels far away from the city center.

The tour was excellent to start with. As first time visiting Muscat, Oman and with limited days to explore the city, the tour just gave us the best possible experience one can have. From natural landscape and backdrop of the city to the elegant and amazing architecture and the taste of local food and products, one would yearn to come back again for another time. We really enjoyed the snapshot into life in Oman we were shown by Said who packed quite a lot into the allotted time. It included a visit to the main Mosque where I hired an outfit as my own long skirt did not cover my ankles (the guards are strict) - that was quite fun - and visits to a café where we tried a local tea and pastry, a drive through a suburb, a quick look at the Opera House, a visit to look at the outside of the palace, another stop at a specialty dessert shop where a small group of men from Bahrain were enjoying each other’s company, a visit to a colorful souk where we could have purchased anything from gold necklaces to versions of Aladdin’s lamp and did walk away with a pottle of real frankincense which is the background scent of Muscat; the fish market where we realised the headgear worn by the men doubles very efficiently as a wallet, and finally we enjoyed a very fresh fish lunch at a local place. Everywhere we went we were greeted pleasantly and it is obvious that the citizens of Oman lead fulfilled happy lives, following the teachings of the Koran and the guidance of the sultan. There is no income tax, you pray five times a day, wash your car and take pride in treating those around you with kindness and compassion. Not a bad recipe for a happy life!

Our half-day tour of Muscat was exceptional. It was well paced for us as a couple of retirees, whilst covering the key highlights of this intriguing city. Our guide, Said, is clearly passionate about Oman's culture and history. He is an excellent ambassador for Oman: personable, welcoming and very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed or tour.
