Gulong Gorge Skywalk Glass Bridge and Waterfall View Private Tour

Beautiful river walk…. Weather fine… queues..unbelievably, non existent..weather fine…. We did the glass bridge…lift and and slide… the zip line option was a huge queue..at least an hour, on a slow day. The lift was ok..nothing special, The slide was fun and easy….even for oldies….and a lot easier than walking down stairs! Glass bridge was trippy…weird looking down ..but felt secure…quite busy and there was a binge jumper to watch…not my thing…. Crazy fools!…lots of foto opportunities laying on the glass panels! Once you get down to the valley, the riverside walk is great… but totals about 4 kms..almost all level..so no stress, some mini boat rides and some caves with steps, but not too many. We were really lucky, and almost had it to ourselves… very few walkers, so it was magical, the path meanders along the river with some great views… take an umbrella or raincoat as there are some drippy rocks! Towards the end , the bandit cave was very pretty and the final boat ride was fun. The whole feeling of sub tropical greenery, avatar like trailing forests, running water and overhead rock formations, was beautiful….and the final boat trip was great… BUT…. At the end, the only way out is about 200. Steps up to the exit….after the walk… very tiring…..my legs were jelly! Take it slowly! Summation…very worth doing and a great experience..but tiring on knees and legs and lungs…. Escalators badly needed!

This was the second tour I booked with Damon of Guangzhou Local Tours. First I was unsure if my mom, aged 87, could make it. (We need to climb stone steps up the mountain to reach the waterfall viewing platform.) Damon and I had communicated well in advanced about this issue. After assessing my mom's fitness condition during our first tour (Chimelong safari), Damon suggested that my mom should be able to climb up to the waterfall platform but not up to the glass bridge and glass viewing platform. With a slow pace walking and some encouragement, she finally made it! The waterfall was spectacular and worth the effort of climbing all the steps. Damon accompanied my mom walking down the mountain while the rest of us went up further. We took a gravity roller coaster (machine-less, with hand-controlled brake) down the mountain instead of walking which was real fun for the youngsters.

The experience was great and the tour guide was very knowledgable. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely a must do activity for anyone staying in Guangzhou

We had an amazing guide Candice, it's one of the best trips we have ever done, we saw a mix of your normal tourist spots which were great, as well as seeing Chinese Culture in local restaurants and parks, Candice has so much knowledge of all the areas we visited, we were a group of six and there are not enough stars for me to give this tour 5 stars does not seem enough.

We spent a day in Guangzhou with Damon. Great experience. My wife and I had wonderful time, full day enjoying sites, not to mention a secret lunch place. Damon EXACTLY knew the best food place for us. I wish you Damon all the best.. Highly Recommended!

We honestly didn’t understand the point of having a guide on this tour. Throughout the entire location, the guide (Candice) mostly walked silently with us and didn’t provide any explanations, stories, or context about the place. She essentially only helped us buy the tickets, something you can easily do on your own without a guide. The natural location itself is beautiful, and the waterfall area could have been really nice. However, it’s a shame how the place is ruined by cheap-looking dinosaur statues (they are EVERYWHERE, even on top of the natural waterfall) and overwhelming loud sounds coming from speakers all over the area. It completely breaks the atmosphere and feels unnecessary. Perhaps this concept works for children, but even then, it’s sad that natural scenery had to be damaged for this instead of creating a separate theme park. The glass bridge itself is quite fun and interesting, but in our opinion it’s not worth a three-hour drive just to see it. Overall, the place had potential, but the experience felt poorly thought out. With no real guidance and a lot of artificial distractions, it didn’t feel worth taking a guided tour as well.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Damon from Guangzhou Local Tours for organising such a wonderful full-day private tour for us. From the start of planning until the end of the day, everything was handled with care and professionalism. Damon’s pre-trip communication was great and his advice made our arrival smooth and stress-free. On the day itself, his warm welcome, excellent English, and passion for Guangzhou and Chinese history turned a great itinerary into an unforgettable experience. He patiently took all the photos I wanted at every site, helped sort out a SD card when I forgot mine, and nothing was too much trouble. Our trip was amazing and we had such a great adventure with the help of our guide Damon. I definitely recommend if anyone is travelling with kids.
