Enjoyable walking tour, friendly informative guide

Really enjoyed our tour of Old Portsmouth, very informative, even though we had a little walk around ourselves, there was so much that was pointed out to us that we had missed, tour runs for 90 minutes but you can leave early. Lots to see and learn about.

Informative & entertaining - book it!

So pleased we booked this tour. Steve is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and informative. Audience aware and good company. The pictorial references were much appreciated too. Highly recommend - whether you’re local to Pompey or a visitor. Thank you!😊

Fabulous tour

I absolutely loved this tour. It was a delight from start to finish. Steve kept us enthralled with his knowledge about the history of Portsmouth, his interesting and entertaining stories, facts and anecdotes, and kept us laughing with his great sense of humour and jokes. I learned so much about the city I have lived in for 10 years and love. I am recommending this tour to everyone I know, and also to everyone I don't!

Old Town tours

I had booked a French audio guide, but we received a translated booklet; we still managed to understand each other more or less! Our guide was great.

Hugely interesting with an excellent guide and story teller.

We were looking forward to our walking tour of Historic Portsmouth and weren’t disappointed. We had a lovely sunny day to enjoy the time we spent out sightseeing and the tour itself takes about an hour and a half covering roughly 2 miles. Steve was welcoming, engaging, amiable, funny and passionate. As an ex Navy member myself I thought I might know something of Pompey and that the day would serve as a reminder of what had been, past and more recent. How wrong I was. The interesting sights, facts, figures and wows were constant and at the end of the tour I felt that we had had a fantastic lesson in history. Fully recommended to anyone who has the slightest interest in history and all things Naval.

Excellent walking tour

I thoroughly recommend this walking tour. Steve is very knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining, pointing out things that we would not have seen otherwise. His anecdotes kept us amused whilst we learnt some interesting facts about Portsmouth’s history. To know that we were also helping to support a very worthwhile charity was the icing on the cake.

A Wonderful Way to Get to Know Portsmouth!

Steve made this walking tour both informational and fun! He is a font of knowledge and made the history of Portsmouth come alive for all of us. He keeps a great pace and has wonderful stories to tell about both the long past and recent past of Portsmouth. It is obvious how much he loves this place and it was one of the best city tours I have done in a long time!

Fabulous tour; nothing not to like!

Steve was an amazing guide around what is a fabulous city. He did a great job of involving participants and showing us the main points of historic Portsmouth. The walk is easy and accessible and on the day that we did it, we were part of a small, friendly, multinational group. The whole tour including brief stops took approximately 90 minutes. Although the tours are free, donations are requested towards Cancer Research UK; what's not to like? Happy to highly recommend this tour.
