Nobody showed up. We waited in the hot sun for 25 mins … nobody showed up. We called and they would not pick up the phone
Meh. Not impressed compared to other city walking tours we’ve done though Viator with really lively guides who impart amazing stories, info, and tips. Guide toggles between Italian and English for a bilingual tour. Information given along the way was fairly minimal. Because I’m fluent in both English and Italian, I can attest that the info was better in Italian. Guide would often have his back turned to half the group. Many of the English speaking participants just gave up and peeled off.
A little problem finding the meetingpoint, but in the end, everything went well. The tour itself was really good, the pace was suitable and the guide (Giuseppe) was a real professional who explained facts about Syracusa and Ortigia very understandable way. So that makes the whole experiece very good!
Accompanied by the friendly and knowledgeable guide Sandro, we visited the alleys of old Ortigia and the wonderful Cathedral.
This walking tour exceeded my expectations. Our guide was personable and so knowledgeable about the history of Siracusa. Nothing was rushed, questions were answered. It was a marvelous introduction to the wonders of this city
Giuseppe our guide was very knowledgable and was from the area . He told us anecdotes about his family growing up in Ortigia which enhanced our enjoyment of the tour
We really enjoyed our tour of Ortigia. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer questions about both the tour and the island in general. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an overview of this fascinating place.
Ortigia is only a walking city and without a guide you will miss the experience. The old town is filled with tiny streets that are confusing
Fantastic tour with Giuseppe He was very thorough in describing the history and culture of Ortigia Definitely recommend this tour and guide
