Guided Walking Tour of Bristol Old City and Harbour

Description
Walking around a city, whilst listening to a tour guide, is a perfect form of exercise. 1000 years of Trade and Industry made Bristol the UK’s second city. See the Cathedral, Banksy’s, Harbour, Docks, Georgian Square, Old Vic, ‘Bridge’, Castle site, Old City, corn exchange, markets, Guilds, Street Art, and Sugar House. We take a maximum of six people on our walk. Enjoy a 2-hour guided walk, circa 12,000 steps and 3-4 miles long, listening to interesting facts, colourful characters, history and anecdotes on the way. Each person has an audio receiver so they can here the guide above all the city noise. Join your guide, who having moved to Bristol in 1980, attended Bristol Poly (UWE), has lived, played rugby, worked off and on in the city for 40 years. He is continually researching the city as a hobby and wants to give something back to the place he adores. The style is interactive, flexible, light-hearted and personal. Nature breaks are limited, so please plan ahead.

We were a group of 20. Mike’s knowledge of Bristol past and present - in older terms is encyclopaedic and in today’s terms out googles google! He is not only knowledgable but good humoured and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Of course the SS Great Britain was a fascinating conclusion. We had such a good time we booked his other tour. Highly recommend
awesome tour managed by Owen who was so knowledgeable of the city history and must-see spots, we really enjoyed our time with him and highly recommend this tour
We arranged a group tour for our company's Annual Conference. The whole experience was fantastic. They arranged the tour as bespoke for us, at a very reasonable rate. The tour guide (Mike) had such a wonderful depth of knowledge - he brought the whole experience to life in such an engaging way. I thoroughly recommend this tour
Lovely guy with a great manner. I was very impressed with his sensitive coverage of some difficult subject matter (slavery, graffiti). Fascinating tour and despite being relatively local I saw and learned loads that was completely new to me.
Many thanks for the kind review. Regards
Mike does love Bristol and will go an extra mile and extra time to show you many interesting places and explain how they were intertwined with rich history of Bristol. Special thanks for the recommendation to visit Clifton Bridge area.

Hi, Many thanks for the review. I hope the rest of your holiday goes well. Mike
We joined a walking tour of Bristol harbour, which was lead by Izambard Brunel (look alike) in July 2024. The walk was mostly level and consisted of approximately 3.5 miles, and around 2 hours long. Joe was our lead, and was dressed appropriately in a Brunel suit and top hat. Joe was very enthusiastic and knowledgable about Brunels achievements including his design of The Clifton suspension bridge, and contribution to design of SS Great Britain and general development of Bristol Harbour. Joe was responsive to questions and made the tour very interesting and smooth. A pleasant and helpful lady was assisting Joe on the tour and together they made the tour interesting, informative and safe. Highly recommended if you are interested in Bristols history, or Brunels contribution to its development.
Hi, I think this is for another tour. Great review for them though. I took you around later maybe. Mike
