It opened in 1992 to house one of the great collections of contemporary Spanish art. Today it is one of the most visited in the country. The tour begins at the entrance of the museum, where you will meet with a professional guide. Enjoy a journey through the history of contemporary art and discover works by great Spanish artists of the 20th century, such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró. Marta was fun and very well versed in the art!
It was very interesting and entertaining, a different visit since in addition to observing the artworks, we could relate the history that connects each of them. With a holistic and dynamic vision, I understood many of the paintings, the painters, and the history behind their creation.
Although it is an atypical museum and contemporary art is not our thing, Miguel, our guide, made sure we had an enjoyable experience and that our visit was not tedious.
This was a great tour and excellent tour guide. Ruben treated us to an enjoyable, educational and enlightening afternoon, explaining the history behind the art. We highly recommend Ruben!
Excellent experience at the Reina Sofía Museum. The visit was super interesting, dynamic, and very well explained. Juan Antonio made the tour very enjoyable, explaining the artworks in a clear and entertaining way, even for those who do not know much about art. The tour guide, Rubens, gave a great tour. He was punctual and led the tour in a great overview of the various art forms represented along with historical insights to bring it all together.
