Chiesa della Madonna dell'Orto is a beautiful Gothic church located in the Cannaregio district of Venice. Built in the 14th century, it is especially famous for its impressive artworks by Tintoretto, who lived nearby and is buried inside the church. With its elegant brick façade and peaceful setting along a quiet canal, it offers a serene and authentic glimpse into Venice’s artistic and spiritual heritage.
Ponte delle Guglie is one of the main bridges in the Cannaregio district of Venice, crossing the Cannaregio Canal near the entrance to the Jewish Ghetto. Built in the 16th century and later renovated, it is distinctive for its decorative stone spires (“guglie”) at each corner, from which it takes its name. The bridge offers lively views of daily Venetian life and the busy canal below.
Ponte dei Tre Archi is a distinctive historic footbridge in the Cannaregio district of Venice, crossing the wide Cannaregio Canal. Its name means “Bridge of the Three Arches,” and it is the only remaining three-arched bridge in the city, originally built in stone in the 16th century and later redesigned with its current form in the Baroque style. The guided tour made a neighborhood very interesting that would otherwise be difficult to understand independently. The history of the ghetto and the Venetian Jews is truly interesting. We had a very good guide, who as a Jew was able to effectively and completely explain the places we visited, including synagogues. As an added value, great sympathy and self-irony... Highly recommended!
This tour was very informative. I learned a lot and Paola the tour guide was great and answered all my questions. I recommend doing this tour.
An absolute waste of time and money only got to enter one synagogue due to it being a Friday- no discount given as not able to enter the others and not advised before hand. The tour was given by a person with wet urine stains down his trousers and not very clear English- who was not Jewish and at €12 euros a person to basically enter one synagogue seemed pretty insignificant when most churches in Venice are free to enter. Not recommended avoid!

Our guide was prompt and easy to identify. She was able to give us a very thorough tour and explanation of the area and met all of our expectations of our tour.
I am very happy to have visited the Jewish ghetto of Venice with the guide, through the Jewish museum. I bought the ticket online. We also visited the Levantine synagogue. It looks like a postcard. There is a kosher bakery and several shops selling Jewish handicrafts.
We paid over 600 USD for this tour. Had to trek across town to meet our guide. She was very nice. She walked us through the ghetto and the area pointing out some sights. Took us to a garden in the back of a hotel and then back to the ghetto. Dropped us off and paid for our museum tickets and said goodbye. She was with us for 2.5 hours I checked inline afterwards and found that the museum tickets for the 5 of us were less then 100 USD. The museum tour was very informative and lasted 40 minutes and gave more information then our private guide. In summary I paid over 500 USD for a nice lady to walk around with us for 2.5 hours. A total disappointment and rip off. If you go to Venice please don’t make the same mistake. Book directly with the Jewish museum and save your money.
My son and I took the tour with Arianna. Other than being a ringer for Demi Moore (which didn’t hurt) she was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and patient. Great tour of the Ghetto and Canareggio. Highly recommend!
