Nisar was a lovely guide and he went out of his way to accommodate all our requests, and the places we specifically wanted to see. We saw a totally different side to Mumbai, which we would not have been able to see if we didn't have a guide.
We booked this night tour & had a great time. The tour guide, Ali, tried to get us on a tour the next day but we wanted to the day to ourselves so kept declining. He ended up saying that because he's free, he'll not charge us and will show us some areas so we agreed (we didn't expect 100% free, a tip & transport we expected). We trusted viator & the previews reviews were good. He repeated multiple times that there will be NO CHARGE. The next day, when in the slums (where we had already said the day before we did not want to go to) he decided to tell us he usually charges $70usd per person for this tour. That's not only ridiculously expensive, but telling us in an area where we felt vulnerable was inappropriate and very clearly premeditated. When we challenged him that he said no payment, he said 'i thought you would understand because you're like me' This obviously makes no sense. We don't have a lot of money, we are not wealthy people. We ended up being forced to pay $30usd per person to get him to leave us alone which is again really expensive, we felt totally unsafe around him from this point onwards & he knew where we were staying. Getting away from this man proved difficult. We saved for 4 years for this trip so shame on you for ripping us off. The night tour is great, shame it's been ruined by a scam artist guide. Do not book this tour unless you want to be scammed.
Ali met me as agreed earlier on Whatsapp. We walked around some of the historic areas and Ali gave good explanations. It was a very crowded night and Ali took extra care to make sure we didn’t get separated.
