A complete Mumbai experience

Kamlesh and his driver met us at the port on time. My only complete is that the vehicle did not have seatbelts in the back and the traffic and crazy traffic really needed that for security. Kamlesh was a knowledgeable and charming guide. He led us through a slum which was challenging with the narrow uneven streets , traffic, workers and animals. I feel we had a complete tour of the city. We were returned to the ship on time. It was a wonderful experience.

Amazing, eye opening tour.

Absolutely amazing tour and experience with this tour company. Our guide was awesome! Do not miss the slum tour - while it is a very depressing to see people living in such conditions, it shows you a different side of Mumbai. The tour company runs an NGO that supports a local after school program for the kids living in Dharavi Slum. They are doing a great job!

Operator response

We appreciate you approaching it with such openness and respect. We’re also grateful for your mention of our NGO, Young Cares Foundation. A portion of every tour helps support our after-school program for children in Dharavi, providing education, guidance, and opportunities for a better future. Fantastic city tour - the real Mumbai

We had the most amazing, informative and enjoyable tour of Mumbai which gave us a real sense of the sights, sounds and colours of the city. Kamlesh is a fantastic guide - a generous host, very kind, considerate and professional. The 6am early start was brilliant and very necessary to get to the markets and see them in full flow. We saw the vegetable and flower sellers and experienced the bustle and true snapshot of this aspect of life. Kamlesh then took us to see the major sights, such as Gateway of India and Gandhi's House Museum; all the while giving us insightful commentary - not only about what we were seeing but about Mumbai culture and life in general. And all of this when it had been Holi the day before and he had had very little sleep! Nothing was too much trouble and Kamlesh really moulded the itinerary to what we wanted to see and experience ( eg Leopold cafè). He even persuaded us to try Masala chai from a ( trusted) street vendor - he was v sensitive about our nervousness but we trusted him and it was totally delicious. (And we didnt get ill because he was confident in the process and insisted on paper cups for our Western stomachs!) By the end of the (long) day we felt very satisfied that we had maximised our time and were so impressed with Kamlesh that we booked another tour for the following day. He worked with our hotel concierge on timings and itinerary to give us the best experience again. ( slum tour and Bollywood - chalk and cheese!) We will post separately about the next day which was equally brilliant. We can't recommend Kamlesh highly enough. A very kind and professional man who shared his Mumbai with us with flair and generosity.

Operator response

Dear Gab, Thank you for such a detailed and heartfelt review! We are absolutely delighted to hear that your tour of Mumbai was not only informative and enjoyable but also gave you a true sense of the city’s vibrant sights, sounds, and culture. Kamlesh is indeed a fantastic guide, and we’re so pleased that his professionalism, kindness, and flexibility made your experience memorable. Starting early to witness the markets in full swing is always a special highlight, and we’re glad you got to see the real essence of Mumbai, from the bustling vegetable and flower vendors to the iconic landmarks like the Gateway of India and Gandhi’s House Museum. It’s great to know that Kamlesh’s thoughtful approach helped you feel comfortable enough to try Masala chai from a trusted street vendor—those small, authentic experiences often become the most cherished memories! His dedication, even after celebrating Holi the previous day, truly reflects his passion for sharing Mumbai with travelers. We’re thrilled that you enjoyed the tour so much that you booked another one the following day, experiencing the contrast between the slum tour and Bollywood. We look forward to reading about that experience as well! As always, we’d like to share that a portion of your tour fee supports our NGO, Young Cares Foundation, which is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities. Your support goes beyond travel—it helps make a real difference. Thank you again for choosing Young Tours and Travel. We hope to welcome you back for more unforgettable experiences in the future! Magnificent Mumbai! 🇮🇳

Absolutely amazing! I've wanted to visit Mumbai for many years ... And it was everything I could have hoped for! What a wonderful city and people. Loved it! We were met at the airport by our driver which took us to the Air BnB. Then to the ferry to Elephanta and again shepherded is back to to our apartment. The following day, he was joined by Kamlesh and we toured the city, including a visit to the Bollywood studio. Highlight was the walk around the Dharavi slum. What an amazing place! Populated by over a million resourceful, industrious and friendly people, it is manic, chaotic and noisy. But oh so wonderful! Two days in Mumbai wasn't nearly enough. I'd love to return some day. Thanks to Kamlesh and all associated with Young Tour - Travel. 😀🇮🇳
