Ananuri was a castle and seat of the eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty which ruled the area from the 13th century. The castle was the scene of numerous battles. In 1739, Ananuri was attacked by forces from a rival duchy, commanded by Shanshe of Ksani and was set on fire. The Aragvi clan was massacred. However, four years later, the local peasants revolted against rule by the Shamshe, killing the usurpers and inviting King Teimuraz II to rule directly over them. However, in 1746, King Teimuraz was forced to suppress another peasant uprising, with the help of King Erekle II of Kakheti. The fortress remained in use until the beginning of the 19th century. In 2007, the complex has been on the tentative list for inclusion into the UNESCO World Heritage Site program.

It was already March when we visit the snow activity in Gudaire but the snow still high and we had soooo much fun. We enjoy the snow and play with the snow. Too many snow activities there in Gudaire . They have coffee shop and restaurant in the ski resort. I enjoy the cable car . I would definitely comeback again to Gudaire .

Great Tour, Great Price and Best Tour Guides around Georgia!

We visited Tbilisi for only three days and wanted to see as many sites as possible in the little time that we had available to us. To make things more complicated, we were traveling with a 20 month old son who is not always as flexible as we are. From the beginning of the tour which started at 9 am at our hotel to the very end, both tour guides were nothing but exceptional. The vehicle was spacious, the driving was safe and the narrative explaining different attractions along the way was perfect. At no point during the tour we were rushed and we felt that things were done at our pace which was great! We were free to spend as much or as little time at any of the sights that we visited and were always guided and helped along, whether exploring attractions or trying to bargain with the local vendors. Along the way we stopped at the very delicious Georgian restaurant as the little one needed a break and the food and local drinks were a delight. When we arrived to Gudauri, we were not just dropped off at some point and left alone, but were shown around and introduced to different activities available to us. To top it all off, the guys even offered to watch and play with our son in the fresh snow (his first ever), while we decided to try paragliding from the top of the mountain. The drive back was just as pleasant and relaxed. We truly enjoyed this tour, the Georgian hospitality and we are already planning another visit and another tour with this team in the summer months this year! Highly recommend. great for family and kids. Great English Speaking guides and they also have a great sense of humor. I forgot when was the last time we laughed so much! Do not think twice of booking with these guys. Was worth every dollar and every hour of the limited time we had over that weekend.
