We had such a wonderful experience with Funny Tours Costa Rica! We were a group of 12 and met the tour organizer, Erlan, on the beach at our resort. From the beginning, everyone was incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. We had originally planned a day trip to La Leona Waterfall. A private vehicle picked all 12 of us up directly from our hotel, which made the day so convenient and comfortable. When we arrived at La Leona, however, the water level had risen so much that it was no longer safe to visit. We really appreciated that the team put our safety first and, instead of letting the day be ruined, quickly came up with a new plan for us. They took us to the beautiful Llanos de Cortés Waterfall and then to Bijagua to see the sloths. It ended up being an amazing day and one of the highlights of our trip! A special thank you to Erlan, Eliezer, and everyone else who helped organize and take care of our group. Coordinating a private tour for 12 people isn't always easy, especially when plans have to change unexpectedly, but they handled everything so smoothly and made sure we had a great experience. Hands down, one the best experiences we have had.!! Our driver Javier and guide Emanuel were awesome in providing us with directions and knowledge of Costa Rica. Having spent most of the day with our driver and guide, you can get a sense of the dedication and pride they have for their country. It was a surprise that pickup was not in front of the hotel - instead you have to walk all the way to the gate. Apart from that, the very thing went as planned and Humberto our guide depending on his mood was explaining what he could about the sites and general Costa Rica.

An amazing experience! We selected to go to the La Leona waterfall and ziplining. Our guides were happy and professional. Our waterfall guide took lots of pictures for us and was smart enough to take a route that not only we would enjoy more but was less crowded. Ziplining was fun and our guides were hilarious. Overall this was a great experience!

This vendor books private tours that allow you to go at your own pace and get to know your guide a little better than you might in a group experience. Our guide, Humberto was so great and very knowledgeable about the local scenery, wildlife, and culture. We appreciated hearing all he had to tell and show us. He took care of us so well and clearly explained the where, when, and how of our stops. The sights were amazing and the authentic Costa Rican lunch was so flavorful! So often you hear about the terrible experiences people have with the local tour groups but without reserve, I feel this was one of the best we've had.

Met Erlan while walking along the beach at Planet Hollywood, and so glad I did! He provided my family with a brochure of excursions his company offered, a variety that spans from extreme adventure to calm and relaxing. There's something for everyone! Most notable things, 1) Transparency - Erlan communicated when conditions were not safe for certain activities (choosing customer safety over profit), 2) Expectation Management - Erlan was clear with outlining when and what activities would take place; our tour guide Homberto was equally communicative throughout the activities allowing us to plan accordingly, 3) Extreme Professionalism - from advertisement to booking to day of activities Erlan and his team did such an exceptional job creating a comfortable and trusted experience that only made the actual excursion that much better. Though you may be able to book the excursion through different agencies... Erlan's team and price are what really sets them apart from everyone else. Highly recommend!
