Griffith Park & Hollywood Sign Sunset Hike

Description
For the Mount Hollywood Hike we’ll meet you at the Greek Theater. You’ll then hike through the Bird Sanctuary and up into the Hollywood Hills as we tell you about the first inhabitants of Los Angeles, the Tongva. As we climb the hills you’ll see LA spread below you, so it’s a great way to get an understanding of how the city developed and how the different areas connect with each other. From the summit of Mount Hollywood you can see almost the whole of Los Angeles. After that we’ll follow the trails down, stopping at some of the best spots to get those Instagram shots of the Hollywood Sign, to the Griffith Observatory. We’ll finish your Mount Hollywood Hike by giving you a quick tour of the Observatory, before leaving you to enjoy this fantastic free museum. * Tour starts 3pm (Winter) or 4pm (Summer) daily * Reusable water bottle included ($10 retail value). * Children between 7-12 y.o. gain free entry

My fiancé and I went on a hiking tour with Paul, and it was absolutely worth every penny! He was incredibly knowledgeable and a wealth of information, not only about the hike itself, but also about the history of Los Angeles and Hollywood. Throughout the tour, he shared fascinating stories and gave us fantastic recommendations for local food spots and attractions to check out during our trip. We got to see amazing views of the Hollywood Sign, the Los Angeles skyline, and ended the hike at the Griffith Observatory, where Paul continued to impress us with his rich knowledge of its history and significance. Paul was friendly, personable, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell he truly knows and loves Los Angeles, which made the experience so much more enjoyable. We enjoyed our experience with Paul so much that we would gladly book any other tour he leads. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting LA!
Not certain if our hike was a more personal hike (we were the only two attending this day), however the path we took was quite a bit more advanced, and would be a bit anxiety filled for those with children. We took a narrow and steep trail with fairly severe drop-offs just a foot off a narrow trail. For those with fear of heights, that path would not work. Paul, our guide, was very supportive of my partner who was having some anxiety, and got her through it...hats off to him for that extra effort. He was also very informative and provided a number of stories along the way. For more advanced trail-blazers, this would have been quite fun. Gorgeous views for sure!
The view was outstanding! Found parking and bus available if you don’t want to hike up. It’s a steep walk so if out of shape, opt for the bus.
Benny was maxing and has extensive historical knowledge of LA! We hiked with him for 3 hours. Thank you Benny!
Chris was terrific. He asked what we were interested in knowing and geared his conversation towards that. He was engaging and interesting! We highly recommend this hike. It is a bit strenuous so keep that in mind!
Incredible views of LA! Chris's story telling definitely added to overall enjoyment of our hike. We had a great time!
Chris was a great host, keeping us all entertained with LA stories (past and present) on the 2 hr hike. Stunning scenery with the promise of the wonderful Griffith Observatory at the end.
Damian is a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and his love for the city and its story really comes through. We weren’t sure about doing a walking tour but we were so glad we did. It was a highlight of our time in LA and we learned some really interesting things about the history and development of the area. Will definitely recommend the tour to friends heading to LA.
A cool way to see the park and observatory. We were lucky we were the only ones on the tour, so we got out guide to ourselves. He was great providing commentary on the history of LA and the park. It wasn't to physically grueling, the views were amazing, including a good spot for the Hollywood sign. It finished up at the observatory, where we had the option to walk back to the start with our guide or stay and spend time at the observatory which we did. Just note, the reception isn't great up there, so we weren't able to order and Uber. It was dark by then, so we ended up jumping on the local bus to get back to the Greek Theatre. I wouldnt recommend driving to the observatory, the traffic and parking wasnt great. Great tour which I would recommend.
Our guides were AWESOME and our kids agreed one of our favorite parts of the trip. Beauhike, and even more lovely people. Thanks for everything!!♡
