Grand Teton Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour

Itinerary

10 min

As you drive, you'll pass Teton Village, home to some of the best (and most intense) skiing anywhere in the States. Note: The tour is over 57 miles long, with more than 65+ audio stories, and takes about 2-3 hours to complete. New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want.

Pass by

Next, you'll drive through the Laurence S. Rockefeller Preserve, a sprawling wildlife preserve that's home to elk, and other mountain critters.

Pass by

The first trail you'll see is the Taggart Lake Trail, a 6-mile loop that leads to a pair of huge, pristine lakes: Taggart Lake and Bradley Lake.

Pass by

Afterwards, you'll stop at a turnout offering great views of the largest glacier in the park, plus get some facts about how much bigger it was just 100 years ago!

10 min

Up next is one of the park's most popular attractions: Jenny Lake. Home to phenomenal trails and gorgeous shoreline, there's a reason why this is a must-see!

Pass by

Past that you'll have a chance to view the famous Cascade Canyon. Carved by a huge glacier 12,000 years ago, this is one of the park's defining features!

10 min

Then you'll get a great look at Mount Moran, the imposing 12,610 foot peak which towers over Jackson Lake.

Pass by

See that single-room cabin up ahead? This little log shack is actually an episcopalian church! Be sure to park and hop out for some incredible views.

10 min

Continuing on, you'll reach the Jackson Lake Dam, serving up stupendous views of the lake on one side and Snake River on the other.

10 min

Next, you'll pass Colter Bay, a major camping hub and a place with some surprising ranching history.

Pass by

The next overlook you'll come across offers simply unbeatable views of Jackson Lake and the majestic mountains beyond. This is a spot you can't miss!

Pass by

An optional detour takes you to Cattleman's Bridge, a cool remnant of the cattle ranches of Jackson's early years.

Pass by

Farther along, you'll reach Snake River Overlook, where famous photographer Ansel Adams captured one of the most well-known photos ever taken in the Tetons.

Pass by

Another viewpoint waits just ahead at Teton Point Turnout, offering glimpses of some seriously strange geology.

Pass by

Next, you'll arrive at Glacier View Turnout, boasting views of not one, not two, but three huge glaciers!

Pass by

Right now, you’re not far from the National Elk Refuge. Established in 1912, this refuge protects one of the biggest elk herds on earth!

Grand Tetons tour was great

Lots of great information. Love the gps feature so that it always is telling you information that matches where you physically are located. Most of the tours don’t allow pets. With this tour we could drive our own vehicle with our pet included!

Even though I downloaded...

Even though I downloaded it, the program didn’t keep up all the time and skipped a number of stops. Very frustrating.

Operator response

Kelly, I'm sorry to hear about your experience with my Grand Teton audio tour. The skipping or failure to keep up usually occurs if the route isn’t followed exactly, as detours can cause the GPS to miss triggers. Driving much faster than the speed limit can also cause this. Could you share more details—did you follow the route, and where did it happen most often? That would help me investigate. I’d be happy to assist with setup to ensure a smooth experience. Additionally, I’d love to offer you a different tour as a replacement. Feel free to reach out anytime; I’m available daily 9 to 6 EST to help.

Tour at your own pace.

It's great that you're not on a time line. You get to do this at your own pace. You decide if you want to stop or not. Pleasant voice to listen to, although Sam Elliott or Mike Rowe would be better.

Wi-Fi needed

The app was a little difficult to get started but worked perfectly once we started. The program was downloaded while we had WiFi but we couldn’t get started until we found WiFi again.

Operator response

Leona, I’m glad the tour worked well once it started. Can you tell me where you faced difficulty—was it with downloading, app installation, or starting the tour? The tour should be downloaded with the password, needing good Wi-Fi, which might be why you had issues. Once downloaded, it works offline. If you’re still there, I can help with setup; if not, I can suggest another tour or a refund. Reach out anytime from 9 to 6—I'm happy to help!
