The tour operator canceled this tour less than 24 hours notice. Since we were flying in from the East Coast and traveling all day, we did not see the email. They had our phone number and could have sent a text message or called us to rebook this tour.
Our booking got cancelled before the day is was booked for unforeseen reasons they say said we are getting a full refund
I made reservations on 5/11/2026 for a tour on 6/2/2026. I read the reviews and knew they have been cancelling on short notice, but I made a reservation anyways for early in our trip, in case we had to reschedule it. On 6/1/2026, I got an email/message the trip was confirmed at 7 am along with the confirmation number and ticket access. I found out later that night that I got a message (went to Spam folder) during our flight at 13 noon that the tour was no longer available. So, 23 hours before the tour, they sent a confirmation message. 16 hours before the tour, they cancelled. When I replied, asking to cancel it and issue a refund, Viator said I had to go through the tour company to request the refund, but as many people have stated, they aren't very responsive. The only reasons I gave 1 star is because I can't leave 0 and they were able to issue a refund. Thankfully we planned the tour early in our trip and were able to find an alternative company to book the tour through. Do NOT book this tour. There is over a 90% chance that they will cancel on you less than 24 hours before your tour. Instead, check into National Park Express. We did and were thankfully able to get the same tour to the South Rim for cheaper and probably a lot better experience.
They canceled my tour the night before, back in March. They told me I would receive a refund in 10-15 business days. It is now June, and the only response I receive on my refund is: "We sincerely apologize, but we have not yet received an update from our accounting department regarding your refund. Please know that we have already sent a follow-up request and are doing our best to ensure your refund is processed as quickly as possible." I've received the same response multiple times. I am extremely disappointed!
I prepaid for a South Rim tour in September, 2025 for an April 27, 2026 tour date. Two days before the tour, the company e-mailed saying the tour was canceled due to the required minimum number of passengers not being met and that a refund had been requested. After waiting about six weeks and sending two follow-up e-mails, I still had not received the refund, so I disputed the charge with my credit card company and received a refund through the dispute process. I understand cancellations can happen, but I was disappointed by the short notice and refund delay.
They canceled on me the day before. Couldn’t reschedule because of other activities already scheduled. I planned this and other activities 3 months in advance.
We were not pick up by our bus. We were there so early and all buses we ask if we are on the list and were names not on the list. I called the customer care number is unavailable. We waited for 2 hrs but no buses is coming anymore.
Viator cancelled the trip on short notice (the night before) and did not refund amount paid Should be reported to better business bureau
The tour was canceled at noon the day before the tour day, less than 24 hr in advance, although it had been confirmed and the payment issued 2 days before. The only reason was that the service was unavailable. They offered us to change it for a tour to the west rim, which we didn’t want. We luckily managed to reserve the same tour with another company despite the short time. We got fully refunded, but the experience was very stressful and sad.
Very disappointed- trip was cancelled with no explanation or alternative given Still waiting for a response & refund
