Itinerary
We start our tour by visiting the megalithic temples of Ġgantija, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980, this impressive archaeological site dates to c. 3600-2500 BC, along with Ta’ Ħaġrat Temples and Skorba Temples in Malta, the temples of Ġgantija are believed to be the second oldest free-standing monuments on Earth, second only to Göbekli Tepe in Turkey and predating Stonehenge in England, and the Pyramids of Egypt by approximately 1000 years! The etymology of “Ġgantija” is derived from the Maltese word for giant (“Ġgant”) because it was believed the site was built by a race of giants. This mythological idea makes sense considering that the temples are constructed from megaliths (massive limestone blocks) measuring more than five meters in length and weighing over 50 tons.
After visiting the temples of Ġgantija we will proceed to visit Victoria, the delightful capital city of Gozo. Victoria is not just the geographic heart of Gozo; it is also the centre of everyday activity. It manages to combine the bustle of its market and shops with a relaxed and sociable atmosphere. It is a great place to watch the islanders go about their day, especially when the main market square comes to life.
At the heart of the city lies another majestic site; the medieval fortress known locally as “Iċ-Ċittadella” (The Citadel), with its distinctive skyline and imposing military architecture, this ancient, fortified structure stands out as Gozo’s major landmark, a beacon visible from all over the island. The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, and the site now occupied by The Citadel is believed to have been the acropolis of the Punic-Roman city of Gaulos or Glauconis Civitas. During the medieval period, the acropolis was converted into a castle which served as a refuge for Gozo’s population. A suburb began to develop outside its walls by the 15th century, and this area now forms the historic core of Victoria.
Our next visit is the delightful sea inlet known as Xlendi Bay, located at the end of a deep, lush ravine, which was once a riverbed and surrounded by picturesque steep cliffs, the bay is now on the must-visit list of most day-trippers to the Island. Xlendi’s small but lively promenade is busy at all times of the day, with a variety of cafes, restaurants, and a handful of souvenir shops. Though seemingly bursting with activity during summer, Xlendi bay remains a refreshingly quiet place even at the height of the season.
Our last stop is at Dwejra, situated on the western shore of the island of Gozo this area is a geological and ecological haven. All the various surroundings are a blend of geology, landscape, fauna, habitats, shoreline, seascapes, archaeology, flora, and history, which makes a visit to this site an experience to remember. Dwejra is also known for its Inland Sea, a small bay surrounded by high cliffs and connected by an impressive 65-metre-long natural tunnel which opens out into the open sea, a truly fascinating natural formation which evokes awe and leaves a striking impression. Weather permitting you will have the opportunity to take a short boat trip through the narrow tunnel and its surrounding area, this trip is available at a small fee payable on location (the boat trip is not included in your package price).
A lunch (fixed menu) with a glass of wine is included during one of our stops.

A great day trip to Gozo. Pick up, ferry and then our guide for the day. We saw plenty of Gozo including a very tasty lunch. Left back to our hotel. Perfect .
It's a pretty packed itinerary, some of it a bit hit or miss. The whole tour was very well organized though. Our English-speaking guide Fabrizia was excellent, very knowledgeable, humorous, and entertaining. Gozo is definitely worth a day trip if you're in Malta for more than a few
I booked this activity for my birthday. The provider did not keep the starting time. Communication was bad. When I called the lady was rude did not help. I lost my money and they ruined my day
Your pick-up time was clearly scheduled for 08:20, as confirmed in your booking email sent on 27th February. A reminder was also sent the day before the tour. At no point was the pick-up time changed to anything other than 08:20. On the day, you did not show up at the agreed pick-up time. Multiple attempts were made to contact you by phone, all of which went unanswered. A WhatsApp message was also sent informing you that your transport was waiting at the agreed location. You only made contact approximately two hours after your scheduled pick-up, by which time the tour had already departed. You missed your tour due to your own delay and lack of response. Responsibility for this situation lies entirely with you. There is only one person accountable for missing this tour, and this is you. It is certainly not the person who answered your call two hours after your scheduled pick-up.
My guide John Paul was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was an amazing experience and very educational
Very experienced tour guide, pleasant and personable. Kevin our driver, was also very professional and accomodating. The tour covered a lot of ground, meaning we saw a lot of what Gozo had to offer!!!
Pick up was as promised. Our Guide was polite and knowledgeable. Lunch was good. Overall a lovely day.
There is to much free time in places that do not necessarily need it and not enough where it would be nice, as an example the museum we where there for over 1 hour and realistically 1/2 hour is enough, then in Dwerja given free time and there is nothing to see except walking up the cliff. Going to the capital Victoria there was not enough free time to enable you to really enjoy the capital
Excellent tour of Gozo.We saw all the important sites of the island in an orderly, informative and well-paced manner. The guide was very informative and organized.
Beautiful and unforgettable experience. Excellent guide with perfect knowledge of the Italian language.
EWe had such a great time on the full-day Gozo tour with Robert Arrigo & Sons! Everything was super well organized from the hotel pick-up to the ferry crossing, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Gozo itself is stunning, and this tour really gave us the chance to see a lot in just one day. The Citadel in Victoria, the views at Dwejra, and the little villages we passed through were all amazing. I loved that there was a nice balance between guided explanations and free time to look around on our own. Our guide was fantastic – really friendly and knowledgeable, and you could tell how much they loved sharing Gozo’s history and culture. Lunch was tasty too, with some local dishes that felt authentic. What I liked most was how relaxed the whole day felt. Even though we covered a lot of places, it never felt rushed. It was just the right pace to enjoy the island. Overall, this tour made visiting Gozo completely stress-free and really enjoyable. Definitely recommend it if you’re in Malta and want to discover Gozo without the hassle of planning everything yourself!
