Itinerary
Stories of deaths and ghosts, rumors and murmurs in the Old Stone House
Why will no one live in these apartments for long? Could the building hold memories from when this was a Civil War hospital, full of moans and loss?
Walk the spooky streets on a night-time walk talking about the true (or as true as Victorian residents believed) stories of spooky curses, haunted houses, and the macabre (but still family friendly!). A Halloween vibe all year long.
We'll walk along the old "high street" - what was once a Native American trading road and is now home to the restaurants and shops of the neighborhood.
It's a legit haunted house—we've seen the ghost of a long-gone resident who refused to leave his life's work in this 18th-century home.
See the spooky dark spires of the campus' at night as we walk the cobblestone streets.
See the famed Exorcist steps.

My little cousin and I from Chicago, both took the Ghosts of Georgetown tour, and it was such a great experience! I've been on quite a few ghost tours, so I tend to have pretty high expectations. Since you're not actually going inside haunted buildings, the tour guide really makes the experience, and Sonia absolutely did. She was engaging, funny, incredibly knowledgeable, and such a great storyteller. She didn't just recite facts; she brought Georgetown's history and ghost stories to life in a way that kept everyone interested from start to finish. She had a great sense of humor, answered questions with ease, and knew how to interact with the group, which made the tour feel really personal and enjoyable. This was my little cousin's first ghost tour in D.C., and she had a great time. We both left talking about how much we enjoyed it. If you're thinking about booking the Ghosts of Georgetown tour, I highly recommend it, and if you have the chance to get Sonia as your tour guide, consider yourself lucky!
Fun experience. Sonia was very knowledgeable and shared details that kept us engaged with anecdotes and local history. Would highly recommend!
Sonia was an amazing guide! So much history, fun and ghost stories!
Was incredibly underwhelming. Maybe there just aren’t enough good ghost stories to make a tour around and that’s why the guide included info on where Jackie Kennedy used to live and a house with a hanging “witch ball” in the window?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! We're sorry the tour didn't land the way you'd hoped. We do want to offer a little context, though, because we think it might reframe what you experienced. Our Georgetown Ghost Tour is focused exclusively on ghost stories, curses, and the paranormal history of the neighborhood as we intentionally leave the traditional history stops to our daytime tours; though we are always happy to answer questions guests have related to the history of this colonial neighborhood and someone asks about the Kennedys on every tour! A witch ball is a centuries-old talisman believed to trap evil spirits and is included in our discussion on paranormal aspects of the neighborhood; past and present. None of the stops on this tour are history stops and all, even the Kennedy stories, are related to ghosts, curses, and tragedy but it is a historic neighborhood and these stories weave the history of Georgetown through the tour.
The guide was knowledgeable and knew the area. He had some great stories but they were not all the ones listed on the itinerary. No mention of the university or a few others. Not a lot of ghost stories but a lot of history which was interesting.
Thank you so much for the kind words about our guide; we're glad his knowledge and storytelling came through! We do appreciate the honest feedback as well. You're right that our ghost tours are designed to focus on the paranormal stories of Georgetown rather than its broader history, so we're glad the historical detours were at least interesting, even if they weren't quite what you signed up for. We'll use your note about the itinerary coverage as a coaching opportunity with our team, because we want every guest to experience the full tour as designed. We hope you'll consider joining us again.
Wayne was amazing! Very knowledgeable and fluid in his stories. The experience itself is interesting, but the guide makes the tour.

The information on the tour was very intriguing and tied well into the history of our nation. Not scary and acceptable for most children. Trevor did a great job engaging the group and answering questions.
