Touring Mt. Vernon was great but the tour guide and transport was terrible. I would not recommend to anyone. You would be better off getting to Mt. Vernon yourself. Due to all the activities going on in downtown DC, the tour guide had to change the pickup location, which was fine. However with the extreme heat, I called him about 20 mins before the pickup asking what kind of transport to expect so we could be on the lookout for when he arrived so we could remain in the shaded areas. I was told "Don't worry about it". "If I don't see you, I'll call you." Really? The sprinter van was clean but smelled of recent smoke that made me want to barf. The 25 min drive to Mt Vernon was painful listening to useless commentary to fill dead air space. Then when we arrived, we were treated to warm water bottles to enjoy in 90 degree heat. The tour around the property was interesting and cool, and we avoided eyesight with the tour guide so we wouldnt be subject to more useless chatter. Really enjoyed the Mt. Vernon site, but again, would have preferred handling it independently, rather than paying $100 pp for terrible tour company. I was really surprised that a reputable company like this provided something so shameful. Thankfully we had a friend pick us up at Mt. Vernon rather than have to take the return trip. AVOID AT ALL COST!
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your recent Mt. Vernon tour. We are genuinely sorry to learn that your experience fell far short of your expectations. We deeply apologize for the lack of professionalism and care you experienced from our guide. We are reviewing our communication protocols to ensure that future guests receive timely, accurate assistance in such situations. We are embarrassed that the van’s odor detracted from your comfort. We have immediately addressed this with our vehicle maintenance team to ensure that all vans are thoroughly cleaned and smoke-free before each tour. Additionally, we are reevaluating our in-transit commentary to ensure it is engaging, relevant, and respectful of our guests’ preferences. We also apologize for the warm water bottles provided on a 90-degree day. We are implementing stricter checks to guarantee that all refreshments are properly chilled, especially during hot weather. We are truly sorry that we failed to provide the reliable, enjoyable experience you deserved. We hope you will give us another chance in the future to provide the level of service we pride ourselves on.

We were in Mount Vernon 30 minutes before the tour when we received messages to meet in Washington DC. That was not part of the plan.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent experience with us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you encountered, and we truly value the opportunity to address your concerns. After carefully reviewing the situation with your tour guide, we would like to provide you with the following clarification:The original meeting point for the tour was scheduled at 650 Jefferson Dr SW at 1:30 PM. However, on that day, due to the sudden temporary closure of Jefferson Avenue,we were required to make an immediate adjustment to the meeting point to ensure the tour could proceed as planned. At 12:50 PM, The guide sent you a message informing you of the new meeting location. The new meeting point was approximately an 8 minute walk from the original location. We also noted that you had read the message but did not respond or confirm receipt. We understand that this change may have caused frustration, and we deeply regret that you were unable to join the tour. Please know that the decision to change the meeting point was made solely to accommodate the unexpected road closure and to ensure the best possible experience for all our guests. As a gesture of goodwill, we would like to offer you a future tour credit on your next booking with us. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you would like to take advantage of this offer.Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience caused, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another tour in the future.
