Greatly enjoyed this experience. Was skeptical but well worth the price! Relaxing and different experience! Obviously older spot but clean and organized process ! Would do this again!
We chose to have a hammam with friends, and we had an excellent time. The welcome is warm, and the team is very attentive. We opted for the package at €70 (approximately 3,000 Turkish lira). Each person had an individual changing cabin to change and leave their personal belongings in complete tranquility. The experience begins in a warm room (without steam), where one sprinkles oneself with hot water to prepare the skin for exfoliation. A masseuse then takes over (for me, it was Aysun) and performs a full exfoliation. Do not hesitate to specify if you want a gentle or more vigorous exfoliation; personally, I would have preferred the more intense version, but the language barrier did not allow me to express myself. Next comes the moment of the massage with a foam wrap, accompanied by a shampoo. A true interlude of well-being! A small tip: bring a detangler for your hair. After rinsing, one is wrapped in a warm towel before enjoying a moment of relaxation in a calm and pleasant lounge. Finally, after getting dressed again, we shared tea accompanied by Turkish delights. A first experience of the hammam for me, and a true joy from start to finish. I recommend it without hesitation!
This was such a fun activity to do in Istanbul! After so many hours on a flight this was perfect to relax. It started with laying on a hot marble slab - ahhhh, perfection! Then, each member of our party had a different attendant who performed the bath. It is not for the modest! There was a body scrub that left our skin soft for at least 2-3 days. A full body massage and some Turkish tea rounded out the experience. Absolutely would go again and recommend to all!
We wanted an authentic feel Hammam and we got it here. Traditional decor, very clean and tidy, we went for the basic package which was enough to experience the Turkish Baths. We were taken into the ‘women’s’ area and provided with a towel and flip flops (we wore swimsuits - some women didn’t!) You have your own lockable changing room. We were taken into a marble room with hot marble slabs - 15mins there to lie down and relax. Then into a smaller room where we were doused with warm water, scrubbed (exfoliated) and then the full body foam massage. Which was amazing - our masseuses were called Muklu and Turkan (they were lovely and very good). Would thoroughly recommend.
Enjoyed a unique, most relaxing and enjoyable hamman experience here. This was my first time at a hamman. Bahariye, my attendant, was a kind, smiling, attentive lady who made me feel comfortable and soo relaxed. The foam massage was the best part! The hammam is a historic and beautifully maintained, clean facility. Professional and with excellent service. My husband, who normally never goes for any spa treatments, also really enjoyed it. We highly recommend this place!
I am obsessed with hamams and I can tell you that Gedikpasa historical spa is spectacular. The attendants give such personal, kind attention that you are left feeling very VIP. Bahtiye took care of me and she was so very attentive and good at what she does that I could have easily stayed the entire day. Authentic (the oldest hammam in Istanbul per the plaque) and simply lovely- don’t miss out on this special experience.
We arrived without registration and arrived after 20min- which were shortened by a tea. The staff were very nice and guided us through the program. The massage through the peeling glove was well dosed+ after that the foam came super pleasant. You shouldn't be afraid to wet your hair - that's part of it. A hair dryer gives rs in the gatderobe. Having a bit of cash with you helps fill the tip envelope you find in the wardrobe. Finally, we were again provided with tea. 2h had passed in no time. Highly recommended.
Highly recommend. We did not know what to expect and so happy we did this. The experience is unlike any spa we had been to and a must do at least once in your life.
Very refreshing and interesting experience at this historic Turkish bathhouse. The massage was strong and the hospitality exceptional. My girlfriend thanks Bahriye.
It was a good experience with friendly staff. There was a cute cat too. The place is clean and the building was really cool-looking.
