Excellent experience with an equally excellent guide (Gabriel) who kept us informed and entertained the entire time. The lunch in Puerto Almanza at Araceli's food house was first class!!
Excellent experience. Highly recommendable for getting to know and enjoying a great day. Starting with the guide/driver LUIS (a genius), he showed us and explained very interesting things, from panoramic viewpoints, places, and stories unique to the island. As a "native" of the island, he is knowledgeable about the area, and the conversation is very educational. Discovering that those incredible landscapes are part of our country leaves you astonished. We finally arrived at Puerto Almanza, and another amazing experience began... Yatayten incredible flavors, an amazing experience of textures and flavors, starting with a Consome of Brotola (to combat the cold). Stews, Brotola sticks, and Centolla, all combined with excellent wine. The dessert does not fall behind. In short, to sum it up in one word... AMAZING!!!
Journey to Asia ... Singapore Malaysia and Thailand bad experience with grab , once you call you show nothing to do with Uber , I strongly advise against using local taxis
Though I had a good outing on this tour, it was not the cooking lesson I expected. I expected to spend time cooking and learning local cooking methods- because that is what the description says- but in reality we were just served food at a table. The food was delicious, but I paid for a cooking lesson and did not get what I expected, hence I only had an average experience.
We participated in the “Gastronomic Experience with King Crab and Lunch from Puerto Almanza to Ushuaia” on January 1, 2026. Although the rain disrupted the planned stops, the dining experience was not related to the description: “You will begin your fun and informative gastronomic workshop led by a local chef, where you will learn how to cook Fueglan spider crab with traditional condiments and recipes.” In reality, only the driver of the minibus demonstrated cutting the crab leg at the table. Therefore, this gastronomic experience did not take place. We are very dissatisfied with this activity and, furthermore, the fact that this is our first booking via TripAdvisor. We ask for a substantial refund given the high price of this activity and the poor quality of the service received. From the evening of January 1st we sent a message to Tripadvisor via the contact tab of this activity on the site: no reply, the same for Kaitek Viajes! After having had a phone call from a Tripadvisor correspondent, he transferred us to Viator who apparently is the organizer of this activity. Viator has twice refused any refund without contesting this failure. Such an answer is deception or even fraud. We bought this activity from Tripadvisor so we are waiting to vote part a refund. The drive was long and the guide didn’t provide much interesting information - although he was very nice. All would have been fine if the meal was worth the effort. Unfortunately it was not. Definitely not as described and very disappointing.
Good evening. We really enjoyed our time with Lucas. He’s a lovely young man and was very knowledgeable. I do however have concerns with the fact that much of the advertising on Viator that we booked didn’t match what we experienced. For example, instead of the last stop being a point of the bay and sea meeting and Learning more about the native population, plus homemade tortilla chips- we stopped first at a motorcycle museum and then Lake Victoria for coffee, hot chocolate, tea and a croissant. We also took the hike to Cascada del Duende after lunch which was difficult because one of my daughters wasn’t feeling up for a big hike after a big meal. I was under the impression that would be earlier on and then enjoy lunch. The lady was nice making ceviche and telling us the recipe. But it wasn’t much of a cooking lesson. I understand why the “crab walk” wasn’t technically available because it’s not in season. But I feel like we could have at least had some better experience related to this expectation. Like I said- Lucas is not responsible for any of our disappointments. He was lovely and I appreciated him very much. Just the experience and what I expected based on the description and the very high price per person did not match up.
Nice laid back day with an excellent meal in Almanza. If you are looking for a king crab meal this is the place to get it. Guides were very knowledgeable and did a great job.
We chose this experience and got combined with the crab route group. Do the crab route instead of this one. If I was reviewing the crab route experience. I would give it a 5 star. I'll explain First our day was changed. It's normal to fill the group. Adam our host was great. Amazing. Knowledgeable. Great driver. And he cares. But this is not a cooking class We were with two couples who chose the crab route. We went to the moto museum. I loved it! Beautiful spot for hot chocolate and crossiant. Adam stopped and explained on the way. Saw a dead whale! Amazing. Then lunch was the awkward part. It was lunch. Not a COOKING CLASS as listed. (So if they change the listing in the future. Then it's fine. As per my viator/tripadvisor history. I take cooking classes everywhere I visit) Ceviche was served to the other guests. All beautifully decorated We were given the ingredients on the plate to combine it. So we quickly threw everything in to try to catch up. We got a gratin course like everyone else. Then the other guests were served a small pan of crab gratin and we waited. This is the AWKWARD part because the others were waiting for us to eat or not eat ... Then the restaurant brought out a pot of water. They made a show of my partner putting in the precooked crab into the pot. (Thru translation they said it was just dead. Not precooked) But then took the pot back into the kitchen to cook it. Then 5 mins later. The crab was brought out and we ate it. But .... Since the other guests only got crab gratin. They were done eating. They sat there and waited for us to start/finish our king crab It was long. It was messy. It was awkward they had to wait. The timing was incorrect. Also as a person who worked for the newfoundland Atlantic fishery system The crab was precooked and a little stale. Cooking time: even smaller Atlantic crab takes more than 5 mins to boil. However my partner who loves seafood said the crab was fine. I'm picky from my nfld work. This was not a cooking class as listed.
