Itinerary
Peristyle is the main square of Diocletian's Palace, the real royal square where you will have the opportunity to see Diocletian's show every day at noon. Also, there is one surprise on Peristyle - the oldest lady in Split...
Welcome to Dragon's Dungeon! Every GOT fan is well aware of the importance of this place for the show. Khaleesi's dragons were chained in this unique historical cellar, built by old Romans. And still standing!
In this street (in front of the city museum) there was an epic scene known as Kill the Masters - where the slave masters were killed by slaves, headed by Grey Worm.
Apart for being entrance to the palace, the golden gate is also entrance to city of Mereen (from Daenerys Targarean storyline). Your guide will show you the visual materials from which you will be able to recognise where the shooting of Game of Thrones took place in Split.
Vestibul, or Diocletian's reception, is both a unique and glamorous place in the palace of Roman emperor Diocletian. It was also the setting of another famous GOT scene - the battle between Sons of the Harpy and Unsullied.
We will pass by GOT museum, containing the materials and descriptions from the shooting. The guests can decide for themselves if they want to visit the museum by themselves.
On this location, the guests will have the opportunity to see the remaining of Diocletian's palace, to be more precise - Diocletian's dining room and walking area. Here are more Game of Thrones scenes as well - supported by visual materials.
Riva is the living room of the city of Split - we will walk through this area, and the guests will have the opportunity to ask any additional questions about Split, Croatia and Game of Thrones filming in Split. Also, the guide an stay as long as possible to provide any further info. Looking forward to meet you in Split!

best of both worlds. I have only watched a few minutes in total of GoT (the partner is the big fan) and have wanted to go to Croatia for so long..and a huge history buff so when I read read the other reviews that Ted is a history teacher I felt absolutely thrilled to find the tour program! We were on a cruise and only had a few hours to see Split before going aboard again. We squeezed in a boat beach excursion and after we walked up to the meeting point to meet Ted. They were extremely flexible and I loved that they reached out and were able to confirm where we would meet them ect. They even made sure we would make it in time for the board call time though sadly we had to leave the tour a little early. Ted has a great speaking presence- just like some of my teachers in the past. You can see tourists just lean our direction to try to hear the story being told. To add, he is also quite naturally funny without pushing any script or agenda. He and the tour’s behind the scenes partner are refreshingly attentive and informative. At one point towards the beginning, he said that he needed to confirm with his partner that we found the tour group because she was worried on whether we made it. How sweet is that? We were on a tour the day before where it was so hard to reach our operator the day-of to confirm whether we could change one small thing from the end meeting point and it was about 40 minutes to try to get ahold od someone. We couldn’t say enough great things !
Thank you so much for your kind words ;) looking forward to meet you again in Split!
Ted was right on time and gave us a personal tour of important Split landmarks as well as GOT filming locations - he even made sure we got great photos down in the catacombs. He was very friendly, spoke great English, knew everything about Croatian history (and GOT), and even spent extra time with us at the end. He was amazing!!! Would highly recommend him as a tour guide (and history teacher) and we give him an 11/10 score!!!
Watch the movie Game of Thrones. Very informative of history of the area as well. A very good guide for this.
Our guide, Ted, was very knowledgeable and engaging. He did a great job of mixing in historical knowledge with Game of Thrones information and was clearly passionate about both.
Guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. Great experience! We ended up being the only two signed up for our time slot so we had a personal tour which was awesome!
Our tour guide was “Ted” who is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the region as well as in the details of ‘The Game of Thrones’ series. He made this tour a fascinating journey into both regional history as well as pointing out where the scenes in the series took place. Using visuals, he remind the group of series scenes and the physical locations we were visiting. He was cordial in answering all questions and encouraged them. I would highly recommend “Ted’ for this delightful excursion.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about everything related to The Game Of Thornes and the city. Had a wonderful time. absolutely amazing city.
It is very good for both history and GOT fans. Ted was a enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who made the tour both fun and informative
Our tour guide Katarina was a joy to be with. She gave a very good tour the provide excellent historical background and put the filming of “GOT” into context of the cities past. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Katarina was a great tour guide. She gave us all the Game of Thrones information of the filming in Split along with the history of the area. It was great to learn about both. She had photos and also some short video snaps from GOT when we were at a filming location. I would highly recommend this tour.
