We had a great time on the bike tour around Galle including the fort! Our guides were so accommodating and made the trip both fun and interesting. I would recommend if you want to have a nice few hours when visiting Galle
We took the ebike tour from Chameera Cycling in Unawatuna to Galle. The ebikes were fantastic and exactly what a a couple of middle aged people needed in the heat. We enjoyed a little of the country side and then our guide, the owner, gave us a very good tour of Galle fort and surroundings. He was very personable and knowledgable with easy to understand English. I highly recommend and wish we could have done more with this company.
We was on a fun, inspiring and very interesting trip. The guide was very friendly open and had impressive knowledge of the city. A helper took care of the bikes so we could bike and walk. Worked well! Highly recommended!
We had a lovely time cycling and seeing Galle. I was a bit worried I would struggle in the heat but it was very relaxed and plenty of stops. A great way to learn about this diverse town and its history.
A very nice tour! We had to finish a bit early due to other arrangements but they were super helpful and accomodating. It’s more of a tour than a bike ride. Feels like more time is spend stopping to talk about things than actually driving.
Exciting and informative bike tour with very engaged guide. The bikes were fine for the purpose. So definitely not a trip for children, as a good part of the route towards Galle is in a lot of traffic. Apart from this, the trip was super authentic and we arrived in many places at Galle Fort, tasted local fruit and vegetables and were in every way well provided with water, pictures, helmets and care along the way. Warmest recommendation from Søren and Lise from DK
One of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka. We really appreciated the chance to try local food and cinnamon tea, and seeing the market places outside Galle Fort.
Booked directly rather than through trip advisor - why pay their commission! $40 for push bikes or $70 for very advanced e-bikes which were more like scooters. My wife was nervous enough about the traffic so elected for push bikes - which were perfectly adequate if a little old - didn’t matter. Chameera looked after us so well ensuring we were safe in the traffic - do need to negotiate 4.5k to the fort but it’s fine and safe with much on pavement or cycle zone. Fisherman interesting to see as was old port - sadly torrential rain cut tour short - and not helped by being late due to uber driver getting lost !! Chameera so thoughtful be even messaged to ask if we had got back to the hotel safely. Thank you
Bike tour is thorough, fun, insightful, comprehensive, varied. Good mix of historical, and contemporary stops. Never would I have known to go on my own to most of the places we went (and it would have been my loss!)
We had a great time and learnt a lot! It was also nice to learn more about Sri Lankan society and taste the local cuisine. Highly recommend 👍
