Itinerary
From early to mid-summer, vibrant waves of purple stretch as far as the eye can see. Furano’s iconic lavender fields extend endlessly to the horizon. When the breeze blows, the flowers sway together, filling the air with a sweet and refreshing fragrance that invites you to take a deep breath. From spring through autumn, poppies, baby’s breath, and various other colorful flowers decorate the fields, offering a fresh scenery and scent with every visit. Even in winter, delicate lavender blooms can be enjoyed inside the greenhouse, where the contrast with the snowy landscape creates a memorable sight. The farm shop is well stocked with souvenirs such as lavender essential oils, perfumes, candles, drinks, and ice cream—perfect keepsakes of your visit.
Spread across the rolling hills of Biei, this flower garden resembles a giant painting using the earth as its canvas. From April to October, dozens of flower varieties—including tulips, lupines, lavender, sunflowers, and dahlias—bloom in vibrant bands of color. Here, you can fully appreciate the vast scale unique to Hokkaido, where sky and land seem to stretch endlessly. Riding the “Shikisai Norokko” tractor bus offers a leisurely tour of the flower fields, allowing you to immerse yourself in the scenery. For those seeking more active fun, buggy and cart rides across the hills provide an exhilarating experience.
Nestled within Shikisai-no-Oka, a farm welcomes you with fluffy alpacas that have adorable eyes. Approaching them, they curiously come close and eagerly eat feed from your hand, showing charming personalities. Spending time with these animals under Hokkaido’s clear air and wide-open skies offers a heartwarming and relaxing experience. Capturing photos here will create perfect memories of your trip.
Tucked away deep in the forest, this mysterious pond’s water isn’t clear but has a milky blue glow that changes color daily depending on sunlight and weather. On sunny days, it shines a bright turquoise; on cloudy days, it shifts to a deep cobalt blue. When the wind is still, dead trees reflect on the water’s surface, creating a magical scene. Although the Blue Pond is an artificial reservoir created as part of volcanic disaster prevention works related to Mt. Tokachi, its beauty feels like a natural miracle.
Countless streams of white water flow down through a cliff crevice, dyed the same mysterious blue as the Blue Pond. The sound of the waterfall and the cool air envelop the surroundings, giving a refreshing sense of calm. In winter, snow-covered trees blend with the whiteness of the waterfall, highlighting the blue-and-white contrast even more vividly. This breathtaking spot reveals different faces with every season, making it a truly unique Hokkaido sight.

Everything was smooth sailing! From the many months of planning to actual travelling. Honestly didnt know what to expect..the driver and tour guide were very professional and friendly and both never fail to look after my family . The hotels...the activities ..the restaurants met our expectation. The driver is always accomodating to our sudden urge to hit the convenience stalls and he waited patiently each time! Love it!
The company was highly organized and communicated well. Mari San & Driver were punctual, professional and answered all our questions. We had a wonderful day, long and hot, but wonderful none the less. Just to provide and FYI - be sure to have cash for highway tolls & parking. Parking is to be paid when or after parking and tolls are paid at the end of the tour. Worth the money and worth taking with this company.
Thank you very much for your review! We're more than happy to know that you enjoyed the tour with our friendly guide and experienced driver. I will share your review with your guide Mari and Driver Kameda. Please come back to Hokkaido whenever you have time. We are hoping to support your trip again!
We did a 8D7N private tour with HTIT. Their quality has not changed since 2020! Our coordinator, Aurore, was responsive, detailed, patient and very friendly. Eriko also helped cover seamlessly if Aurore was not available. We definitely appreciated their advice on the local Covid-19 rules and regulations, which we would have had a headache navigating otherwise. The accommodations are all personally vetted by the company, and every place was well chosen. Being met at the airport with surprise goodies and a little activity pack for the kids was a lovely welcome (and introduced us to some of the yummy things in Hokkaido!) Our driver and guide, Katou San, was responsible, had child seats and water in his comfy van, made great food and activity recommendations, and was able to suggest alternatives that the kids loved when the weather wasn’t good. (PS he loves ice cream, fishing, camping and photography too!) Megu San, who guided us for part of the tour, was great with kids, and we had a great time with him too. The experience was excellent and we never felt rushed. Traveling with young kids, this made all the difference, and helped us truly enjoy our holiday and the beauty of Hokkaido. Thank you HTIT, and well done! Would recommend them to anyone who wants to travel to Hokkaido!
Our tour guide Kyoko and driver Mr. Yoshida was the best ever! They were so accommodating in every way and gave us a perfect experience and happy memories all day! We recommend this tour; very beautiful places to see, My husband, my daughter and myself had a wonderful day. Lavender fields were unbelievably beautiful, blue pond was incredible, pretty waterfall. Kyoko and Mr Yoshida gave us an up close and personal experience and we were able to enjoy places much more than if we were on a large tour. Super happy with our choice on this private tour.
Dear Crandyug Thank you very much for your warmest message! We're more than happy to know that you enjoyed the tour with our friendly guide and experienced driver. As you wrote, our tours are flexible and accommodating since it must be the reason to choose a private tour. Our guides and drivers are not just following itineraries, but always doing their best to provide a memorable day under any conditions. Please come back to Hokkaido whenever you have time. We are hoping to support your trip again! :) --- Misa from Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel
Lavender fields are beautiful tomato farm, colored flowers are beautiful when photographed, and lavender ice cream is more delicious than you think. When the sun is hot, I thought it would be good to carry a hat, a portable fan, or a chicken.
Dear hmj8812, thank you very much for your review! We are really happy to know that you enjoyed our Furano and Biei tour. Lavender ice cream sounds a little strange but the taste is really not bad, isn't that? We also appreciate your suggestions for the items for a hot day. Please come back anytime if you get an opportunity. Hokkaido always welcomes you and we are hoping to be a part of your trip again in the future! --- Misa from Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel (Hope Google translation works well!)
The tour was fantastic , the flowers are so beautiful , very relaxing with a private car and excellent guide this is the perfect tour.
Hi JOHN D, thank you very much for your great review! I heard from Emiko that it's a fine day with the blue sky and flowers are fully blooming. How lucky you are! Since Furano and Biei are crowded in the busiest season, we believe a private tour is the best choice not to be pushed by a fixed schedule and other participants. Did you make the rest of your dreams, seeing cherry blossom and snow? Please contact us anytime you come back to Hokkaido for those or any other reasons. Emiko and I are looking forward to be a part of your trip! -- Misa from HTIT
