What an absolute cracker of a day snorkeling around Great Keppel island. Absolutely perfect conditions with very light wind, amazing visibility and a beautiful warm winters day peaking at 27deg. So fortunate to have such easy access to the Southern Great Barrier Reef right on our doorstep 🪸
Had the best day! I normally get seasick, but the smaller boat meant that it wasn't an issue at all. The smaller group allowed for all of us to ask questions and get along. The tour was 3x different snorkelling spots and numerous spots of historical significance which was explained to us, an added bonus. The reefs we explored all held different wildlife and coral, even seeing a turtle! We were never rushed and were able to go to one area that is often not available due to weather - a flexibility you could never get with a big company. I have dietary requirements, and this was catered for and labelled appropriately to ensure there was no mix up! Would highly recommend to anyone that it was a great experience, visiting multiple spots and snorkelling.
Amazing day out with Derek and Indiana yesterday on the Kraken seeing the Keppels! They were both fab, the views were stunning and we were even lucky enough to spot a turtle whilst on our second snorkel!! Thanks guys - must do experience!

This is a trip I would 100% recommend if you are in the area. Great for locals and tourists alike! The team are relaxed, knowledgeable and really make the experience tailored to the guests. We loved our time!
We had such a fun and relaxing day out with Carl and the crew on the Kraken. Perfect weather definitely helped, and the fast boat made it possible to visit a number of spots to enjoy the beaches, snorkelling and SUPs. A highlight was seeing a guitar shark! Lunch was delicious and we especially loved hearing about the history of the islands and eco projects the team are involved in.
I could not recommend this experience enough. My mother (a Yeppoon local and former Great Keppel Island resident) booked this trip for a pre-Christmas treat for myself, my Sydney-based husband and his parents who were visiting the area for the first time. I grew up in Yeppoon and have done various boat trips to Keppel and surrounds but this is by far the best and most comprehensive experience I've had! I've actually never been around the entire Great Keppel Island before and the boat operator was incredibly knowledgeable and the tour was really interesting about the history of the island and ecosystems. The boat was undercover so you're protected from the sun. We had a small, intimate, friendly group on the boat. Despite some rough-ish conditions with a strong northerly, we were in safe hands with the skilled staff. And we could tell they really knew what they were doing, trying to find us the best spots with the conditions that we had. The morning tea and lunch was more than ample and delicious (prawns and wraps). The best part was stopping for a swim at Middle Island which made the experience feel special (rather than just Keppel main beach). The staff were very friendly and reasurring (I'm a nervous swimmer) and for me, despite previous chances to do so, it was my first time snorkelling at the old underwater overvatory. A fantastic experience all around. My in laws (in their 70s) really enjoyed it, despite not snorkelling (by choice). They had a swim at Middle Island and it was a relaxing day for them too. We had to dodge some stormy weather rolling in off the coast on the way back but it made the boat trip rather exhilerating. Next time I have friends or family visit Yeppoon with me, this is the trip/tour I will be booking. Thanks for having us!
A great time with our family on today’s Kraken snorkeling tour! Very knowledgeable staff and also very funny…. My two boys loved it. Peeling prawns on a remote Keppel island beach will be a long held memory! The Observatory was awesome….so clear and soooo many fish….Felt like we were swimming in a fish tank. An absolutely amazing day and well worth it….!!!
We had a fantastic day out with the crew despite poor weather conditions. Communication was excellent from booking to tour day. We were able to see a turtle and other sea creatures. The staff were very helpful, positive and professional. We would highly recommended this tour operator.
