Great tour of Fort Kochi

My friend and I had an excellent tour with Aaru. He is an informative and passionate local of Fort Kochi, and shared his knowledge of the places we went to. We enjoyed our tour, even though we had limited time and only did a short version of the tour, we were able to maximise the experience because Aaru was flexible and customised the tour to what we were interested in. Book him without hesitation. Thank you Aaru - if I could do it again, I would certainly do the longer experience.

🥇🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟AARU - WHAT A GUY! GOES ABOVE & BEYOND 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🥇

Where do we start………. What a fantastic guide Aaru was from start to finish - he really did go the extra mile to make us feel safe, valued and made sure that we had the best experience of Kochi/Cochi. We booked Aaru through Trip Advisor for our 1st day trip sightseeing around Kochi. Aaru took the time to find out what we as travellers really wanted to see of Kochi and adapted the trip to suit our needs. We visited a spice Mill & Aaru secured a local price for us for what we purchased & we managed to buy about 12 (100g) packs of spices for under £5 thanks to Aaru. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Aaru was very informative throughout the day and we felt that we saw the real Koch/India during our time with him. As we enjoyed Aaru’s company so much, we hired him for our 2nd day in Kochi. Aaru took us out into the countryside to see local people catching fish on the waterways and making a rope on their own premises - It was great to see traditional practices. Aaru then drove us down to Allepey where we spent a night on a Houseboat. Aaru was there to meet us the following morning to drive to our final destination in India - Varkhala. Aaru was always prompt and polite & caring and went the extra mile - nothing was too much trouble for him. As tourists Aaru cared about how much we spent and would always pay in the liquor stores and tourist places on our behalf - so that we weren’t ripped off. He always sourced the best ATMs so that we wouldn’t be ripped off. WHAT MORE CAN I SAY? OTHER THAN IF YOU ARE IN KOCHI: BOOK YOUR TRIPS WITH AARU BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ……. HE HAS AN EXCELLENT ENGLISH AND PUTS THE TOURIST FIRST. OUR EXPERIENCE WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO HIM SO PLEASE SUPPORT HIM IF YOU’RE IN THE AREA AND LOOKING FOR THE BEST MOST CARING DRIVER. Thank you Aaru x

Favourite part of Kochi

I had an amazing afternoon with Aaru. If you are interested in seeing a different side of Kochi I highly recommend. He showed me local spice “factories”, perfume stores, peppercorn cleaning and sorting. We also saw local churches, ate at a local restaurant, and had a bit of history thrown in. The best part was definitely the man himself as I felt like I was being shown around by a friend - great for a solo female traveller. Thanks again !

Best tuktuk driver!

My friend and I had a great time with Aaru in Fort Kochi. He showed us around and introduced us into the local culture. Even though some places where closed due to a national holiday he took us to interesting landmarks, including a local restaurant where we had a meal together :)

A journey from the heart — thank you, Aaru

I had the chance to meet Aaru in Fort Kochi, and from the very first moment, he showed incredible kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism. While chatting in his tuk-tuk, I shared my wish to visit Munnar, do a hike in the tea plantations, and eventually continue my journey to Alleppey. Aaru immediately offered to organize a 3-day trip for me, taking care of everything — the car, the itinerary, and even the accommodation. Those three days were truly unforgettable. I honestly don’t even know how to fully express how grateful I feel. Thanks to Aru, I experienced Kerala in such an authentic and meaningful way. He didn’t feel like a driver at all, but rather like a friend who genuinely cared about my experience, my comfort, and what I was feeling throughout the journey. He found me a beautiful cottage surrounded by a peaceful, lush garden — a place I would never have discovered on my own. He also introduced me to local restaurants and traditional Indian food, allowing me to truly experience the culture in a very genuine way. Every moment felt safe, easy, and deeply enriching. Aaru is not only incredibly reliable and respectful, but also deeply kind, generous, and thoughtful. I trusted him completely from start to finish. I recommend him 1000% to anyone visiting Kochi and beyond. If you’re looking for someone who will make your journey special, authentic, and heartfelt — Aaru is the person you need.

Friendly driver and impromptu trip to Munnar

Met Aaru whilst walking through Kochi. He offered to drop me to my accommodation after I secured some fruits from a local stall he recommended, after learning I was a photographer he offered to take me on his short tour of Fort Kochi Spice markets and production houses. He also arranged a Kathakali show for me directly, he also took a friend and I to see the bioluminescence withing Kochi. After talking some more of my plans to go to Munnar he counter offered another price I'd been offered with a very reasonable rate to drive me to Kochi, arranged accommodation for two nights as well as a sunrise hike before driving through the tea plantations. I was at the end of my trip so was after alone time to reflect and soak in my final days in India which he respected and accomodated to.

A day in Fort Kochi, done right with Aru

Aru was an absolute highlight of our time in Fort Kochi. Born and brought up here, he knows every lane and corner, and that really shows in the way he guides you through the city. What could have been a standard sightseeing day turned into something much more personal and engaging. He strikes a great balance between showing you the key spots and keeping the experience comfortable. We never felt rushed or exhausted, and he was very mindful of taking breaks and pacing the day well, especially as I was travelling with my mother. What stood out was the little details. From sharing background stories at each stop to helping us navigate local shopping spots with the best options and prices, he made the experience feel easy and well thought through. We had to miss a couple of places due to our own scheduling, but he went out of his way to come back the next morning and help us complete the experience. That gesture meant a lot and is something we will not forget. If you are booking with Aru, I would genuinely suggest trusting him and letting him lead the day. He knows what he is doing and makes sure you get the most out of your time. We would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Kerela. He also organises longer trips across Kerala, including Munnar and many other sites in his rickshaw or car. Thank you so much Aru, we hope to see you again!

Excellent knowledge

Aaru knows Kochi extremely well. He has worked with tourists for many years and knows how to communicate with them and suggest things they might like without being pushy. We used his service for 4 days and always found him reliable. I would recommend contacting him.
