Full-Day Whitewater Rafting Trip on Middle Fork from Auburn (Class 3-4)

This is our second (or maybe third?) trip with this company, this time on the Middle Fork of the American River. As usual, great communication, good gear, fun guides and of course great river course. This time we also camped at their site, which was a good way to get extra sleep. A special shut-out to Fiona for her patience with all of our calls and adjustments, Frankie for expert driving and our guide Jacob for fishing us out from the water so many times.

H2O was terrific. The pricing was the best available, we even got a discount for 7 friends in our 40s. And the guide and experience of the entire team was top notch. We were able to get all of us in one boat and had the most amazing day. Weather was perfect, water was a bit chilly as expected, but refreshing. And the rapids were fantastic. Even the spread at lunch was quite impressive. Would strongly recommend this company, especially the full day middle fork option. And our guide Corey fit right in with our group. Lots of shared fun stories and quality instruction.

Our family recently experienced the Middle Fork whitewater rafting trip. It exceeded every expectation, and it was an unforgettable adventure. Our guide, Whalen, was absolutely outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the river and the surrounding area, had a great sense of humor, and inspired confidence with his technical rafting skills. His ability to balance safety, fun, and education made the experience enjoyable for everyone. The rapids were exciting, the scenery was breathtaking, and the entire operation was first-class. The gear was top-notch, well-maintained, and comfortable, and the lunch provided was actually delicious. I highly recommend H20 Adventures and our exceptional guide, Whalen. It was one of the best family adventures we've had. We'll definitely be back!

I float a lot of rivers - trust me this is the company you want. Every employee at this company will go out of their way to ensure you have a good time. They have great service excellence. They are friendly and helpful to private boaters - something that is important for river etiquette. They don’t make you get on the floor through tunnel chute like most other companies - you will look good in the pictures (and have more fun) this way. They have nice gear - boats, paddles, PFD’s and helmets are all excellent. The guides have good jokes. Trip leader Devin likes it when people bring paper towels on the trip.

My husband and I did this together with my 13 year old daughter. Deven explained very well before we went out to the water what we had to do. My daughter and I were a bit nervous, but he always explained with great detail and encouraged us. Our group consisted of some older ladies and he also made them feel confident and we did very well. None of us fell out. Ha ha! Only thing I would add, would be some nice hot black coffee during lunch!! Lunch was delicious, we built our own wraps. It wasn’t to heavy. It was perfect to give us energy to finish off the day. Over all this was such a great experience, my daughter still talks about it. And loves to encourage others to try it. She says deven brought out the adventurous side of her. And she would gladly do it again. But as long as we have the same guide. He made us feel safe, and confident. Thank you

We had such a fantastic day rafting with Raft H2O on the Middle Fork American River. Our guide, Connor, was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely safe the entire trip. He clearly knows the river well and gave us great tips to make the ride fun and exciting, while always keeping safety first. A special shoutout to Blake, whose jokes and commentary made the drive to and from the river just as enjoyable as the rafting itself — we were laughing the whole way! The scenery was stunning, the rapids were thrilling, and the entire experience felt seamless and well organized. Highly recommend Raft H2O and their awesome team We’ll definitely be coming back!

We had an amazing time river rafting on the Middle Fork in California on September 6, 2025! Our guide, Pierce, was fantastic—he made sure everyone felt safe and confident the whole trip. Most of our group had little to no experience rafting, but thanks to his clear instructions and steady guidance, we handled the Class III and IV rapids without anyone getting tossed out of the boat. What made the trip even better was Pierce’s knowledge of the area. He pointed out local wildlife and plant species along the way, and honestly it felt like having a National Geographic expert on board. He really brought the river to life, sharing cool facts and making us appreciate the beauty of the canyon just as much as the thrill of the rapids. All of the other guides with H2O Adventures were also amazing. They worked together as a team to make sure no boat was ever left behind, which showed how much they care about safety and group experience. You can tell the company has a great system in place that makes everything run smoothly. Pierce is truly an expert at what he does, and the entire H2O Adventures crew made this rafting trip both exciting and unforgettable. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for the perfect mix of adventure, safety, and appreciation of nature!

Always, always and in always the best rafting exp. and rafting company; bar none. I have rafted with them now for several years and the guides are excellent the lunch is excellent and the on River experience is excellent. I can't say anymore but, go do it! And do it with H2O adventures. And no this is not a paid testimonial.

We had an amazing time white water rafting this week! Our guides Marina and Devin were extremely experienced and knowledgeable but also knew how to have a good time. Tunnel Chute was a bit hairy as we flipped, but it was awesome! Generally we don’t like to do excursions more than once but I would definitely do this tour again in the future!
