Itinerary
Your journey across Lake Titicaca takes you through the world's highest navigable lake, sitting at over 12,500 feet above sea level. The boat ride offers sweeping views of the surrounding Andes and a chance to feel the crisp, thin air that defines this remarkable landscape. Note that travel time from Puno to Amantani is 2.5h approx and the same for returning back
We'll start by visiting the Uros Titino Islands, where generations of families have built their homes entirely from totora reeds harvested from the lake. Watch as local residents demonstrate how they weave and layer the reeds to create the floating foundations beneath your feet. You'll learn about the constant maintenance required to keep these islands afloat and see the traditional reed boats that have been used for fishing and transportation for centuries. Many families also share stories about their daily life on the water and may invite you to step inside their reed homes to see how they've adapted to this unique way of living.
Upon arriving at the Amantani port, embark on a scenic 20-minute uphill walk to a spectacular viewpoint that offers your first glimpse of the island's natural beauty. From here, you'll begin a leisurely 1 hour coastal walk, tracing the island's perimeter while taking in breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Titicaca. As you walk along the tranquil paths, you'll witness stunning vistas of the Bolivian snow-capped mountains across the shimmering waters. The route leads you to the main village plaza, the heart of local life, where you can observe authentic island culture in action—a peaceful community untouched by mass tourism. This walking experience reveals Amantani's harmonious relationship with nature and the preservation of ancestral customs. It's more than just a hike; it's an immersive journey through one of Lake Titicaca's most serene and unspoiled islands, where traditional ways of life continue undisturbed and spectacular landscapes unfold at every turn.
After exploring Amantani, we arrive at Llachon, a picturesque peninsula nestled on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Here, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch accompanied by stunning panoramic views of the lake's crystalline waters and surrounding landscapes. You'll have 40 minutes to savor your meal and take in the serene beauty of this tranquil location before we begin our journey back to the city of Puno

Uros Islands were fascinating. A little touristy, but so are most places. Amandani Island had nice views and not touristy, but could have skipped it as it was a long way there and back (2.5-3 hrs each way). Boat was fast and comfortable and guide was nice and helpful.
This was an incredible way to see the lake and get a proper sense of the place. We visited three islands and had a large boat to ourselves which we were not expecting. Amantani island was the first stop and great walk to the top and a pre-Incan temple. Our lovely guide Samuel was from the island and made sure we learnt about island life, its flora, fauna and history. Next stop was Taquile Island with local dancing and a delicious trout lunch with the most spectacular view of the lake. Pictures don’t do it justice it is breathtakingly beautiful. Last stop the Uros islands and a lovely family who made us welcome sang to us and gave us bird eggs to try. A fascinating insight into life on a floating island. I would thoroughly recommend this Private boat tour of three islands especially if you have the pleasure of Samuel’s company as your guide on your journey.
The islands were stunning. Samuel, our guide, was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Coordination with Hugo in the office were efficient and understanding when we had to alter plans. Will book again on future visits!
Sam was an awesome guide! The cultural dynamics and scenery were really cool. I would definitely take this tour again!!
