The main square of the historic site of the city of Olinda, is our starting point, at the top is the church of Carmo, work begun in 1580, and one of the main religious temple in the city, here begins our climb between hills and narrow streets with beautiful colorful houses around the World Heritage Site,
It constitutes an important Baroque architectural complex, it was the first Benedictine monastery in Brazil, dated 1597, the internal spaces have a high artistic value that deserves to be appreciated, highlighting the main altar, and decorated with great painting that represents the death of the holy founder.
Arriving at Alto da Sé in Olinda, right in the heart of the historic site, you will have one of the most beautiful views, the viewpoint of the city, here you have many other things to discover such as the city observatory, the church of mercy and the slope of the same name, tasting the most delicious tapioca in Pernambuco (optional), many handicraft shops, the beautiful church of São Salvador, the city's patron and among other attractions.

It was a disaster: 1) We are advised that we will not be picked up at the hotel agreed on the website, and that it was on my printed voucher (according to them just that day they did not pick up at that hotel) 2) The tour started at 8.00 (which is why we chose it, since in the afternoon we asked to go to the airport) and actually started at 9.15 3) It was with a guide who spoke Spanish, and the guide did not speak Spanish. He only spoke Portuguese, which was the language of most of the attendees.

The bus was comfortable, with air conditioning. We visited Recife and then Olinda. The guide, Baruque, was attentive and always thought about the group's safety. A highlight was the Puppet Museum in Recife. Only in Olinda was the visit too quick.

The walk was very good! Especially for those who do not know the cities of Olinda and Recife. We had an idea of architecture, culture, history beyond contact with people.

We had a great day in Olinda and Recife. The guide was great. Just that they didn't warn us correctly of the time and we had a hard time getting back to clarify that it wasn't eight o'clock, but nine o'clock.
It was a very nice city tour. We know the main points of the historic centre of Recife and Olinda.
I bought 2 tickets yesterday for the full day tour for today spt 14th, 2025 around old recife and olinda. I chose a pick up point that is far away from the flat where we are staying. We booked an uber for 7:15am, on a sunday morning. We got to the point at 7:30. At the pick up point, an hotel un rua bom viagem, nobody had the slightest idea of the tour. We waited until past 8:30. We then called, internationally, to an operator of Martur Viagems e Turismo, who had no idea about our reservation. At 9:12 am they contacted my by whatsap indicating they had found my reservation!!!! Now, at around 10:20am I wrote back to them requesting a full reimbursement of the tour plus the back and forth uber. Up to this moment I have had no response whatsoever.
Nice tour, with it you can have a panorama and overview of Recife and Olinda. Very good guide.
