The little horses look unhealthy and weakened. The path to the waterfall is very steep, muddy and rocky, causing the horses to slip constantly. The horses are desecrated to death. The horses looked pathetic and are beaten.
Earthly paradise for nature lovers!! Diversity of flora and fauna. The road to the Limón waterfall is long. If you do it walking, it is advisable to wear hiking shoes with good grip to walk between rocks and mud. If you do it on horseback, it is advisable to know how to ride it, to accompany your walk on the ups and downs.
Here you could get to know the nature of the Samana peninsula - first transfer by speedboat, then further travel and the highlight - riding on horseback to the large waterfall (first numerous steps had to be mastered) then lunch and transfer to the palm beach
The tour was supposed to include a guide. In the morning we were picked up by a driver who said that he does not speak English and we drove 3 hours by looking up facts for the area ourselves hoping the guide will join us later at the region. This did not happen. The trip to waterfalls did not have anything about a horseback riding mentioned in the description, neither did any of the personnel speak English. It was possible to communicate with the host and hostess using google translate. We got a short description of the coffee and cacao we were served. The boatride was ok, but the boatowner did not speak a word in English and the lunch was communicated by a salesman at the Bacardi island. It was a great day, but the description here is inaccurate. We also had to stop several times because the driver was unaware of the location of the destination and because the bus was technically not in order and the engine overheated several times. An 8 hour trip turned out to be a 12+ hour trip and this made us miss several other prior engagements
