It was a wonderful time, but the weather did not cooperate. We did not make it to see George Washington's house. They had to close early. The rest of the trip was wonderful and the driver went out of his way to accomodate drop off's due to weather.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for your kind words. We’re glad to hear that you still had a wonderful time overall on the Full-Day Tour of Washington DC with Mount Vernon & Old Alexandria, despite the weather challenges. We understand how disappointing it can be to miss visiting George Washington’s home due to early closures beyond anyone’s control. We truly appreciate your understanding and are especially pleased to know that the rest of the tour was enjoyable and that the driver went out of his way to accommodate drop-offs and ensure everyone’s safety and comfort given the weather conditions. Great way to get an overall view of what there is to see for a 1st time visit. Also easy access for someone not able to walk to sights.
Mount Vernon is under construction. Pretty disappointed with what we were actually able to see inside the home
The tour was great. We saw lots of different monuments and Ali was great at telling us information. The only downside was that the White House was having things done to it for the inauguration so we couldn’t get a great view. We then were taken to Mount Vernon for the afternoon which was a beautiful drive through Alexandria up to Mount vernon where Charles was an amazing tour guide.
got to see several national monuments without doing too much walking. We were dropped off about as close as possible and had just enough time to see them without dilly dallying.
Had Ali today and had a great time. He was very knowledgable about the city and was patient with all of his guests when they had questions
The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. I the the tour should include a stop at the Vietnam memorial.
I had paid for a day trip of Washington DC plus Mount Vernon. Unfortunately Instead I was transferred to a trip to Mount Vernon and was to be given a tour in the evening. They apparently did this as I was the only one who had booked that particular day's itinerary. I only learned this late in the day when I complained I had not seen "the sites."- I must say that the tour of Mount Vernon was very good indeed but the lack of the tour was disappointing. I had never been to DC before and booked the tour as I thought it would be the best way to experience the highlights. As I was leaving early the next day for my flight home I was too tired to go on any evening tour, particularly as I was told it would not bring me back until after 10.30 and even then I would need an Uber to take me back to my hotel. I was contacted the next day (I presume because I didn't take the evening tour) and when I explained what had happened I was told I would be credited the cost of the tour but this has not been forthcoming. This is why I have decided to go ahead with this review. Further, the driver of the van who took us to/from Mount Vernon was not very pleasant and was certainly not customer oriented. He seemed to be more concerned with bad drivers than informing us of our surroundings. He gave the distinct impression that he would rather be anywhere other than driving us around. The van was new and nice and clean, it was just the driver that disappointed. Finally, I have to restate that I enjoyed Mount Vernon but there was a lot of walking and I was exhausted, but missed what I had hoped would be a nice sie seeing tour with a commentary.
