When traveling to East Java, make sure to watch the dawn from the summit of Mount Bromo. This tour starts just before midnight and takes a long journey to Sunrise Point, where you can see the sunrise above Mount Bromo. Before returning to Surabaya, take a quick climb to the crater rim to view the nearby scenery and the active caldera. This private full-day tour showcases the best of the Tengger Semeru National Park region in a single day of touring, making it the perfect choice for time-constrained tourists.

Be ready for our knowledgeable driver and guide to pick you up at 00.00 a.m. and bring you along the Probolinggo road to the Bromo region. Your pick-up location in Surabaya will take you there in around 3 hours.
We’ll use a Jeep (4 WD) to continue the trip so we can appreciate the rough route that circles the hilly region. Next, we will head to Mt. Penanjakan or Kingkong Hill, the best place to enjoy the sunrise view of Bromo. The dawn will typically occur at 04.30 AM. Normal nighttime lows on Mount Bromo range from 0 to 12 degrees Celsius, warming up as the sun rises. You can hire an extra jacket for IDR 10.000,00 at the sunrise view point if you need one. We shall sip some coffee or tea in a nearby coffee shop as we wait for the morning. There is a prayer room available for Muslim customers, and morning prayers can begin as early as 4:15 AM. The distance between the coffee shop and the location where we can see the sunrise is only approximately two minutes.
We then go down the hill to the parking jeep area and pass through the vast stretching sea of sand created by the eruption of Mount Bromo. We will also pass through one of the tourist destinations with a very attractive panoramic view that spoils the eyes, namely Widodaren Hill.
The trip will take around 30 minutes to reach the summit. You can see Mt. Semeru, the highest mountain on Java Island, as well as the caldera, the Mt. Batok mountains, and the still-active Bromo crater from the peak’s rim.
After descending from Bromo crater, you are required to make your way to a Hindu temple named Pura Luhur Poten, which is a remnant of one of the Indonesian kingdoms. Hindu temple Pura Luhur Poten is situated near Mount Bromo's base.The majority-Hindu Tengger tribe gathers at this temple for religious ceremonies. From the jeep parking lot area, you can walk up to 300 meters to this location.
Then, you can enjoy a traditional Indonesian breakfast at Lava View restaurant and return to the Bromo village area, the area where our car was parked before transferring by jeep.

My family when on a day trip from Surabaya to Madakaripura and Bromo. They can customize the trip. We had kids so decided on sunset instead of sunrise at Bromo. They were able to add on Madakaripura waterfalls as well, which was so awesome. Both places were magical. Our guide Ririn was amazing. She took pictures and made a some great videos. Definitely recommend.

We went to Mount Bromo with our family and had an amazing experience. We were picked up around midnight, and the car was very comfortable for the drive to the mountain area. The guide was very helpful throughout the trip and made everything run smoothly. We were picked up from the hotel at the agreed time and driven about 2.5 hours to Mount Bromo, where we switched to a Jeep for the last leg of the journey. Throughout the trip, our guide (Alfa) was great as was his school friend (Ridho), who drove us to and from Surabaya. Their English was very good and Alfa was very knowledgeable about the volcano and the local history. He also took a number of photos for us on the way up as well as some group pictures at the top. The nonchalant ones he took as we walked around were particularly good. Overall a fantastic and smooth experience. If we do any more trips from Surabaya, he'll be the first person we contact.

Guide got in touch the afternoon before to explain things and answer any questions. Throughout they were so friendly and approachable, offering to take pictures and asking questions, and offering ideas about things to see and do, but also left me to sleep as well when I was tired whilst travelling. Not a super cheap option, but worth it for the overall experience. Everyone involved was really helpful with all my questions and I was extremely satisfied with the excursion.

Great trip to the Bromo volcano excellently accompanied by Ziadan called ‘Dan’ for short. He speaks excellent English and guides you well. Like most tourists we were underdressed before the cold and wind at the top at dawn. So warm coats were rented from the local people. Good to know this is possible. Although we didn’t know that all of China comes there for instagrammable photos, we also got a beautiful photo session from Dan as a gift. The beautiful nature and Bromo did the rest. Was not in the description but nice. Dan sought the best places, cleanest toilets and provided an amused conversation about culture, history, politics and religion. This excursion is really worth doing. Then plan some space to rest and sleep.

We just got back from our Bromo family trip with Landscape Bromo Tour and honestly, it was really AMAZING! Everything was very horraaayyy 😂😂 with the guide faruq. We got picked at midnight and didnt sleep till morning. Haha. T(our kids loved him!). We left around midnight to catch the sunrise, and wow… it was seriously worth it. The view was magical, something we’ll never forget. The jeep ride was so much fun, especially for the kids.
