A good tour with the best duo that were Analia and Carlos. It exceeded the expectations we had. Totally recommended, a warm atmosphere, of a lot of learning, emotion, you can take it in English or Spanish, zero complaints. 10/10
Our guide and driver were both fun and very knowledgeable about the area. We learned a lot of the history as well as geological and botanical facts. The Lakes Region is truly a treasure in this world.
A 5. Toooodo wonderful 👏🏻 a 100/10
Rodrigo was an excellent guide & a genuinely nice guy. He’s knowledgeable & passionate about Chile & its people. The tour is a great way to see the key points in a whole day tour. Beautiful countryside, mountains & lakes. Recommended.
Firstly this review is no reflection on our driver and guide Joaquin who was very good. For context the weather on the day of our trip was overcast and rained heavily for periods which clearly wasn’t ideal for seeing the sights. However, weather aside the itinerary isn’t that good, a couple of stops along the lake for photos, a very short stroll along the beach at end, with an optional extra boat trip which wasn’t a consideration for us given the low cloud and rain. The entry (fee not included) to the National Park, involved a very short walk around a circuit of less than 1km to see what was little more than large rapids rather than falls, and for us not worth the admission or time. The highlight should have been Osorno Volcano, however despite Joaquin delaying our drive up for a time in the hope the cloud would lift, it proved to be in vain. In fact the weather deteriorated into heavy rain and hail, ended any prospect of our group ascending to the summit on the ski lift. Instead we made for the shelter of the cafe which I’d be hard pressed to give 1-star. Lunch was taken at a typical tour stop restaurant, where the food and service were okay, but nothing special. Given we were advised that it rains around 200 days of the year, my advise would be not to book in advance until you had some confidence in the weather forecast if you choose to take this trip. Better, still just drive or taxi direct to the volcano as the rest of the trip isn’t that good.
Dear Brian Thank you very much for your detailed feedback Our guides are very experienced; thank you for mentioning Joaquin As for the weather, it’s unpredictable here in the area—it rains quite a bit. However, We always inform passengers about the weather and offer to reschedule the trip, which you chose not to do You decided to go ahead with the tour To climb the volcano, you need the expertise of a professional driver. It’s a 15-km climb with many sharp curves and often hidden ice. In fact, the most critical part is the descent from the volcano; this requires a great deal of experience. It’s not just a matter of arriving and climbing or hiring a taxi. In 17 years, we’ve seen all kinds of accidents involving inexperienced people who tried to climb without success The National Park has 3 trails, and you have 1 to 1.5 hours to explore it; there’s a reason it’s the most visited national park in Chile—it’s a shame you didn’t make the most of it As for restaurants, there are at least 20 restaurants with different price points and options; each passenger decides where to have lunch 97% of travelers are happy with the itinerary because it exceeds their expectations, but we understand that we can’t please everyone Thank you
Our driver, Joaquin, was delightful, and knowledgeable. Even better, the other passengers were lovely, engaging folks. Our guide would translate the questions and shared information from the Spaniard on board. The catamaran ride was peaceful and scenic, but nothing compares to traveling up the side of Osorno Volcano on a sunny day. We were glad we’d brought our jackets as it was a windy ride on the ski lift! Even for Alaskans it was chilly. The panoramic views were amazing. So glad we spent the day seeing this area! Especially grateful that Joaquin stopped every time the other woman (who was a gem) on the tour or I saw a fox or bird!
Dear Angie, Thank you for taking the time to write. We strive to ensure our travelers enjoy their experience. Thank you for mentioning Joaquín. Our guides are very dedicated and experienced. So I don't understand the rating. I hope you come back soon. Best regards.
Joaquin is a knowledgeable guide and we had a fantastic time and learned so much. My husband has mobility issues and Joaquin was very helpful in trying to accommodate him. We had a lovely day.
This was a well-curated tour with a fantastic English speaking guide who was called Paolo and who taught us so much about his country.
We took this tour despite less favourable weather forecast for Osorno. The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable with excellent English. The car and driver were also excellent. The falls were also wonderful despite light rain. Then the guide insisted on going up to the volcano. We told him we would love to do something else if the weather is bad but he insisted on going up ("we should respect the itinerary "). When we reached the observation point there was zero visibility with pouring rain so we simply returned on our tracks. We then went to the green lagoon which was also great with interesting information. From there there was not much more to do (we decided to skip lunch) so we were back at the hotel before 2 PM. I think that if the weather was good or a proper substitute to the volcano would have chosen it would have been a much better experience for us.
Cami is a very knowledgeable tour guide and so much fun to be around! We were able to see such Amazing sites with the volcanos, waterfalls, different lakes, walks on the beach, boat ride and a delightful lunch! Carlos is an Excellent driver, got us safely where we needed to go and had walking sticks to walk up near the volcano! We highly recommend both Cami and Carlos for your tour needs, you won’t be disappointed!
