Itinerary
You will travel along The Landscape Route, a scenic road offering impressive views of the mountains and volcanoes. Along the way, you will make several stops to take photos and admire the breathtaking scenery.
Arrival in Panajachel for breakfast. Meet your local guide and start a shared boat tour on Lake Atitlán.
Visit San Juan La Laguna, where cooperative women demonstrate ancestral Mayan weaving, plus local art galleries, and chocolate & honey demonstrations.
You will have free time to explore this town. You can visit the local church, the indigenous market, and enjoy a cup of freshly ground coffee.
In Santiago, you will have time for lunch before enjoying a fun panoramic tuk-tuk tour around the town. Later, you will learn about the Spanish conquest and Mayan religious syncretism during a visit to Maximón, a revered Mayan saint. You will also witness a demonstration of traditional Maya ceremonial dress.
You will return to your hotel in Antigua or Guatemala City.

Great overview tour of the Lake and towns - San Marcos La Laguna and Santiago Atitlan were highlights - great way to visit this wonder
The transportation was private but the tour was not. The tour group was fun in the end and the guides were nice, but the whole day felt very rushed. Only a few minutes were spent at each location/activity. The second town, San Pedro, is not worth it as there is nothing to see in the short time. The rest of the towns and activities were great, with lots of new knowledge, great scenery, good food, and great people. Overall, a great day getting to know Lago Atitlan!

I think this tour is the best option to get to know the surroundings of the lake. It is very well organized and allows you to go through the essentials; then, if you have more time, you can go back on your own to the towns you liked the most. To get an overview of the place, it works perfectly. The guides are local, have a lot of knowledge and clearly explain aspects of their culture and traditions. A highly recommended experience to start discovering Lake Atitlan.

I had the opportunity to do a tour with Francisco and Hannibal and honestly it was one of the best experiences I have had in Guatemala. From the beginning it was punctual, friendly and very professional. You know deeply the history, culture and traditions of the villages around the lake, which made the tour not only beautiful, but also very enriching. This tour was absolutely amazing. Everything was so well organized and so well thought out. The itinerary flowed perfectly, and ending the day with hot chocolate was such a special touch that really wrapped things up on a high note. Our driver was also very professional, and even with the language barrier he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable during the ride. The whole team really exceeded my expectations and logistically the day couldn’t have gone any better. A very special mention to our guide Nicholas. He was nothing short of outstanding.
