Carmen was absolutely amazing! Her knowledge and her energy was awesome! We did all the major stops including coffee tour and chocolate making stop. We had a wonderful lunch
The trip was disappointing. Both the driver and the guide were professional. The guide had us spend close to 2 hours at an archeological site (not mentioned in the description) that was more worth 30 minutes. Due to this time spent, the only other stops we made were the map (worth seeing) and lunch. The guide did not discuss city history nor did we even drive past the cathedral and we did not stop at the market. Overall I did not feel the guide knew what was advertised and this made for a disappointing experience.
We had a great city tour with Miguel. He was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about history. We never thought Guatemala city was so big! We went to the archeological park, plaza, church and relief map.
The tour covered all the significant sites. Only drawback was the tour guide. He was very nice, but lacked a sense of humor. His tour of the Archaeological Museum was poor. At each exhibit he would read the information and then simply repeat it to us in his own words. Evidently, he did not realize that I could read and understand Spanish. It got so boring that I broke away and toured the museum on my own.
Enjoyed the tour. Organized well. Different things to see and do. Fair price. Knowledgeable tour guide made it fun.
We actually did a half day city tour. Our guide, Monica, had excellent English and showed us a lot of smaller details that would have been easy to miss on our own.
Hi Diane B, We are so glad you take the time to post your experience in Guatemala City. Thanks to let us know Monica gave you an excellent service and show you all those details of our wonderful city. See you in your next trip to Guatemala. Best Regards,
To me one of the most important aspects in booking a guide or transport in a country you haven't been to before is communication. Guatemalan Adventure were great at responding promptly to emails. This is very important and instils a lot of confidence. We did not have a long time in Guatemala, but we had Guatemalan Adventure pick us up from the airport, do a Guatemala City tour the next day and then drop us off in Antigua. Great people!
