Visit the National Museum, the home of the famous Lucy which is ranked one of the most important museum collections in Sub-Saharan Africa. You will tour of the museum including archeological artifacts discovered here in Ethiopia, Ethiopian artwork, and displays of traditional Ethiopian weapons, jewelry, clothing, and musical instruments.
MOUNT ENTOTO Drive up to the prominent peak of Mount Entoto, which served as Menelik II capital before the founding of Addis Ababa, see one of the best views of Addis Ababa
Merkato, it’s the largest shopping area in Addis and some say the largest market in Africa. Stalls, shops, kiosks, malls, and street vendors sell food, drink, spices, incense, clothing, jewelry, music, movies, appliances, handicrafts, chat, and more. Visit the recycling market where someone’s garbage is transformed into a new and different product ready for its new life. You will explore the famous Mercato with me i can lead you through the hustle and bustle of this unique marketplace, explaining what is for sale and what it is used for.
Visit Saint George's Cathedral It was named after St. George, after the Tabot (Ark) of the church was carried to the Battle of Adwa against the Italians during which the Ethiopians secured victory.
Located on the campus of Addis Ababa University and housed in Haile Selassie’s former palace, the Ethnological Museum is considered one of the finest museums in Africa. I will lead you through the museum explaining the various artifacts, daily objects, musical instruments, and visual art pieces relating to many of the diverse ethnic groups of Ethiopia.
Sightseeing of famous statues, the loin of Judah, streets Winston Churchill, Legehare train station The Tiglachin Monument,'Our Struggle Monument' Tewodros Square carries the name of emperor Tewodros II. What an excellent tour. Becky and his driver Reta were friendly, professional and patient. I was running alittle late after a long flight but they were very helpful and patient as we drove and walked the city. We covered a lot of ground efficiently and visited various museums, shops and restaurants etc and I found a few new food favorites that I need to incorporate. Becky’s knowledge of the culture and significance of Ethiopia on the world was vast and he provided great detail abut the walkable city, the tourism, future projects, etc. you get to see the nicer parts and the nitty markets. He is proud of his culture and it shows. He took his time and I appreciated that. This tour is great for all ages, solo travelers or groups.

I had an excellent day tour of addis Ababa covering the National Museum, the Ethnology Museum , Entoto Hills , Merkato. The day was made enjoyable by knowledgeable inputs and commentaries by Beki , my guide for the day . through him i got valuable insights into Ethiopian history , culture and daily life. i particularly enjoyed the making of Injera and the sharing of it with fellow travellers Entoto. It was a great day and in the few hours that we had together with the guide Mr Beki learnt a lot about Ethiopian history , culture and religion . Thanks for his valuable commentary. East Africa Tour Operator - Beki is a fantastic tour guide ! His knowledge of everything inside the museum, the history of Ethiopia and friendliness was super. We enjoyed making Injera (Ethiopian flat bread) and he gave us all the experiences we hoped for and more. He was flexible as well to accommodate some changes in the schedule needed. I would recommend using them. We were ladies only and felt safe all the time. Also, if you only have one day, this is a fantastic way to experience Addis Ababa. THANK YOU SO MUCH
