Itinerary
Start your day with our trusted local driver, who will pick you up from your hotel in the early morning. As you journey through the beautiful coastal landscape, enjoy views of charming properties and lush palm plantations. Arriving around 8:00 am, you’ll board a boat (type depends on the day’s bookings) to sail along the stunning Wasini Canal. The day offers the perfect balance of relaxation and exploration, starting with snorkeling at Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park. Here, you’ll have a chance to spot dolphins (95% chance), vibrant marine life, and maybe even sea turtles!
After enjoying the vibrant underwater world, we’ll take a short tour of Mkwiro Village on Wasini Island. This is an opportunity to learn about life on the island and connect with the community. If you have small donations like books, sanitary towels, or gently used clothes, they’ll be warmly received by local families. Following the village visit, we head back to Shimoni for a delicious Swahili lunch. The meal is prepared by local women, giving you the chance to support their work while indulging in the rich flavors of authentic coastal cuisine.
Finally, you’ll visit the Shimoni Slave Caves, a community-run historical site. Here, you’ll learn about the dark history of the slave trade and its abolition while supporting a meaningful local initiative. By joining this tour, you not only enjoy a memorable experience but also contribute directly to the communities of Wasini and Shimoni.

Other pick up areas are not listed,you will send your address and arrangements shall be done. Pick ups commence between approximately 6:45am and 7:45am from Diani beach.Departure to the marine park depends on park ticket processing by the Kenya wildlife service. Returns to original point your were picked in the morning. Pickups from Mombasa start at 5:30 AM. Please note that pickups depend on the number of guests on that day — sometimes there may not be enough guests to organize a pickup from Mombasa. In such cases, we will inform you in advance and advise on alternative arrangements.

100% recommend going snorkelling with Omar and his team. Everything was very simple and professional from the first point of contact. Communication was great. Our pick-up driver, Mohammed was punctual and friendly and told us lots about the local area as we drove to the snorkelling meeting spot. Omar and Hussain we amazing on the day too. Very informative and gave us a full briefing before heading out on the boat. I have never felt so safe on a snorkelling trip! Usually we're just told to jump in and left to it, but Omar and Hussain were with us in the water, constantly ensuring our safety but not encroaching on our personal time or space as a family. They even had a Go-Pro and took videos of us in the water. If there was something we saw that we liked, they captured it for us so we didn't need to worry about using phones or cameras, just enjoying the experience in real time. Omar sent all the videos to us after the trip - amazing! We had the pleasure of visiting a local village which I would urge everyone to do. Seeing real Kenyan village life is extremely humbling and this particular village is very special to Omar, it's clear to see his passion for wanting to make a difference here. If you are going on this trip, please think about taking something small, be it sweets, books, shoes or simple clothing (new or used) for the children and community. It will warm your heart to see how happy these simple things make them. After the trip we all had lunch together and talked about our adventures. The food was plentiful and tasty. Thank you for the absolutely special and extraordinary day me and my friends had in the Marine National Park!! :) We had the opportunity to visit there almost the whole day and really was a compared low price, me and my friends are students and could afford, so its approved from that point too. :) Special thanks are going to Omar, we had such a great funny talk and I learned so much from him, so thank you Omar that you had us on your boat. :) At the end of the trip everybody was singing songs in the languages of all the visitors, that was such a funny place on the boat there. :D We were not too many people, had an easy time chatting with everyone during the ride. And then everybody was so excited when we first time saw the dolphins, so beautiful creatures swimmimg towards us. It was the first time ever I saw one, just magical, so really thankfull to everybody involved. I hope to come again someday and can truely recomment to everybody, you will have a great experience and just the best conversations there!

Had a fantastic day with Omar and another solo traveler! Not only did we find the dolphins he filmed a great underwater video for us and managed to do the same with a sea turtle. Additionally he’s so nice, welcoming, and really knowledgeable and answered all our hard questions. His mom also made us lunch which was some of the best food I’ve had in Kenya so far.

We really loved this tour. We had plenty of time to snorkel and guides (Omar & Ali) were great at ensuring that anyone who was new to snorkelling or who was not the most confident of swimmers were comfortable & felt safe. Snorkelling highlights included seeing squid, octopus, puffer fish and a green turtle. The visit to Wasini Island was a deeply poignant experience. Lunch was amazing! We had a great experience, offered by a real local agency that is caring for its clients. From flow to end, everything was perfect! We were treated to our private boat, two great guides for a snorkeling that lasted 1h30 with a lot to see (octopus, squid, fish of all kinds and sea turtles!) We swam to a beautiful sandbar where a very nice fruit platter was offered! Then the visit to Wasini Island and the caves were very interesting! Not to mention the great Swahili meal we were able to enjoy at the end of the experience! Book without hesitation, even if you are new to snorkeling!

A wonderful excursion! Great communication. Pick up and drop off at our hotel in Tiwi. The entire team was extremely kind and informative. We saw a lot of dolphins and the snorkeling was great. Our guide pointed out octopus, squid, etc. I believe lunch was cooked and served by Omar’s mother. It was delicious and featured many local foods. The tour of the slave caves was very interesting and shined a light on a very dark time in Kenya’s history. The stop at the island was wonderful. The local children were happy, kind excited to talk with us. They are working hard on education and building classrooms. RECOMMENDATION: they would appreciate gently used school books that can be used to teach you children English. I wish we had known; we would have packed some in our suitcases.

This was such an authentic and amazing experience. Omar and his family are such good people and getting the opportunity to see them for who they truly are was one of a kind special experience. I was all over in different areas of Kenya for 12 days and his mom’s cooking was the best I had the entire time during my visit.
