Full day Cat Ba National Park adventure Tour from Cat Ba island

Cat Ba National Park is located in Cat Ba island and recognized by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve with a rich and unique landscape. The area includes tropical humid forests, wetlands, mangroves, and coral reef ecosystem types . The easiest way to explore the amazing beauties of Cat Ba island is by trekking from Cat Ba town through the jungle, see wild animals and exploring the local life, by this route to Viet Hai Village and then take a boat back. This tour will be an adventure from Cat Ba town and also is an interesting experience you should try.

Itinerary
8h00 - 8h20: Our bus and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cat Ba town and start the journey to Cat Ba national park. 9:00. Arrival National Park, Our tour guide will help you to take the entrance tickets and start hiking from the entry of Cat Ba national park. On the way we will pass 3 peaks named : Ang Vat, May Bau, Ang Phay where we can take a short break in 5-10 minutes for taking pictures, and experiencing the diversity of the viewpoint. The route to Frog Pond will take around 2.5 hours. En route is the chance for enjoying bird watching, sightseeing in the primary forest.
11:30. You will arrive at Frog Pond – the largest freshwater lake on Cat Ba island. You will see hundreds of Va Nuoc trees growing on the water, you will only see this kind of tree here in the whole Cat Ba national park. Frog Pond is also known with about 400 large and small islands and 130 small golden sand beaches. All creating a beautifully natural picture, and located on the route trans-forest from the national park center to Viet Hai village. 12:00. After a 30 minute break we will keep going to Viet Hai village (around 4 km more). The way from here to Viet Hai village will be easy going as there is no uphill any more, the path is mostly downhill and flat.
13:00. Arrive at Viet Hai Village and meet the friendly local people who live inside the National Park. Enjoy the Lunch with home cooked food at a local house in Viet Hai village, after lunch we will cycle to explore this ancient village with nearly 100 houses, try fish massage experience in the cool stream or local fish pond. 14:00. Start cycling 5km from Viet Hai Village to Viet Hai harbor, this is the most beautiful road for cycling.
15:00. The boat will stop at a floating house, we will see the local life on the water of Lan Ha bay, get a kayak and explore Lan Ha Bay – One of the most beautiful bay in the world. 16:30. The boat will take you back to Cat Ba town, on the way back we will visit Cai Beo Floating village, the oldest floating village in Viet Nam with hundreds of houses on the water. 17:00. Arrive at Ben Beo harbor, get in the car to go back to your hotel in Cat Ba town.

Incredible experience, the guide was very interesting and exciting, the weather was wonderful, the kayak and the beach were heavenly!!
Really fun day out! Reasonable pricing for everything we did, took a boat around the archipelago, got to experience kayaking around some spots to get closer & see more private areas boats cant reach, provided a delicious lunch, swam in the water towards a secluded beach, visited the fishing docks, fed & pet the fishes, relaxed ontop of the boat in the sun with the breeze, and finished with a cooking class! Honestly so much fun, so many activities, experienced surrounded by islands. Our group size wasnt big at all which I preferred but it increases on busier days ofcourse. Very friendly staff, especially Hana who gave lots of fun facts and was allround a very cheerful host 😁 Thank you!
It was a really nice trip. Hana was very helpful and nice, she gave us nice informations ! thank you to hana. nonetheless, it’s quite disappointing that we had to pay for our drinks (and the bartender was very impatient on paying), when we payed so much for the trip. not having water provided in a hot day by the sea is for me a red flag. other than that, had a great time !

The day cruise from Cat Ba island was great! All logistics from our hotel door in Hanoi to the cruise and back were organized and it was seamless. The cruise was beautiful, the kayaking was awesome and all the food was tasty. Our guide Hana was especially knowledgeable and kind. We highly recommend this excursion and having Hana as your guide. It was well worth the cost!

This was an awesome daytrip and planned very well. Hana was an excellent guide and knew so much about the area. Kayaking and swimming around the bay was peaceful and beautiful and it really felt like a protected area and not just a tourist trap. Cannot recommend enough!
