The cruise was nice, and the lunch was good and plentiful. Unfortunately, there was a problem during the payment for the drinks and the change given back. Worse still, money was stolen from our bags. More than €50 disappeared. This really spoils the day.
The day on the boat went well, except that upon our return to the hotel, several of us noticed that money had been stolen from us on the boat. This happened while we were all kayaking or when we were on Monkey Island. There is therefore one or more thieves in the boat's crew. This ruined this beautiful day. The drinks offered on the boat are all paid for. The lunch was good and hearty. The day on the boat was enjoyable and relaxing. However, we spotted two or three monkeys from a distance on Monkey Island, which was disappointing. As for the caves by kayak, we only saw one, and we just passed by the floating fishermen's village on the way back. In conclusion, do not take much money on the boat, or very little if you want to pay for drinks. On this note, keep a close account of the drinks consumed, because when it comes time to pay, the person in charge of the drinks will ask you for more money than expected. Be firm and recount with him and the excursion leader.
They stole money from our bags during excursions, BE CAREFUL! Theyq also offers drink without telling you it's not free so you end at the end of the day with a bill. They try and stole us when we pay for drink also, adding more and giving us the wrong change. Don't go there the guide is also not involved, it's just making a dream day into a bad memory. Run
Note that depending on where you book this boat tour you will see different activities and end times advertised. We booked the one that included a visit to Monkey Island and ended at around 5pm. They have life jackets if you are not a strong swimmer but I would advise having a strong swimmer in your group to look after you as the tour guide may not always be able to give you 1:1 attention. Our tour also included some leisurely cycling and kayaking. The monkeys can and will bite you if you do not carefully listen to instructions: don't look them in the eyes, don't bring drinks or food (not even water) to the island. Stay close to your guide and pay attention to what they're saying and doing at all times. Our guide spoke great English and was fun and nice. Our boat had maybe 40 people on it of which about two thirds appeared to be Vietnamese tourists, but it seemed like we had slightly different packages. Lunch was delicious and plentiful. You'll be given one room temperature 500ml water bottle as part of the package so either buy more to bring with you or buy more on the ship. I also recommend a waterproof pouch for your phone and some shoes you can wear in the water. You may also want to bring shoes you can hike in for the higher viewpoint on monkey Island. Our boat was a bit smaller than the others we saw out on the water and because of this I think they were able to keep us in more secluded spots which was nice.
I played too much and was very tired. But it is fulfilling exhaustion. However, I was a little worried when I didn't hear from them the day before to confirm the tour. On the day, I was picked up at the hotel at about the right time. The tour schedule was smooth as planned. Lunch on board was also very good. With this tour, I think this price is very low.
Honestly really great, a must-do!
It did not get off to a good start. My travel agent Chrung at Trà My Hotel (not recommended) had not communicated with the tour company and I waited in vain for a bus pick up. They eventually sent a motorcycle to get me. But once at Beo pier, it was smooth sailing from then on. Lan Hai is the less known neighbour of world famous Ha Long bay, and so much less crowded. Captain Jack's boat is quite old compared to some of the sleek behemoths cruising the bay but adequate to the job. Tour leader Long was informative and strict on safety. The food was good. The excursions were interesting, but strenuous to this oldie. Novice kayakers made that excursion a carnival of chaos. I thought that cruises were by definition relaxing, but this one left me feeling pooped. But happy.
Had a great day swimming, kayaking and sightseeing around Lan Ha Bay. Our local tour guide called T was super friendly and knowledgeable!
Brilliant day so much fun, the staff were great, the landscape were stunning and swimming was so much fun. Excellent value for money! It was a brilliant day!
Exceed my expectations. Well paced family activities and good food. Well organized and well informed guides. The boat was clean and comfortable.
