Itinerary
On our way from El Calafate to Chaltén, we will make a stop at La Leona (a site of great historical interest) to use the toilets and you can enjoy homemade cakes and something hot to drink (not included).
Once in Chaltén, we will take 2 fully guided hikes. First, we will head to the Condor Viewpoint. From this point, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of El Chaltén, the Las Vueltas River and the majestic Fitz Roy and Torre hills.
After descending, we will head to the Rancho Grande Restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch.
After lunch, our next destination will be El Chorrillo del Salto, located 4 km from the town. This waterfall, approximately 20 m high, falls into a pool of crystal-clear water that creates a fascinating natural setting.
Finally, we will return to El Chalten to spend the last 30 minutes exploring the town and then begin the return trip to El Calafate.

Relative to the amount of time it took to travel to/from El Chalten (and given the description of the tour on the website), we were expecting the time in El Chalten to be more packed with activities and sightseeing. Instead, it included a one hour hike (which was nice), lunch in town, and then a brief walk to a waterfall before we headed back to El Calafate. Contrary to the web description of this tour, there was no viewing of the Viedma Glacier (indeed, we were told by our guide that there is no such viewpoint possible given how far away the glacier is) and there was no opportunity to walk around and explore the town of El Chalten. Our guide and driver were lovely, but based on the web description we just expected more from this day trip.
