Tour Options
Itinerary
First, learn facts and figures about Austria, its people and their customs by starting the tour while driving on the highway.
Melk Abbey - A Baroque Jewel- is the symbol of the Wachau Valley. Enjoy the view of its steep, terraced vineyards overlooking the Danube.
Driving time through picturesque Alpine region of Salzkammergut, famous for its beautiful landscapes, culture and a love of tradition. Salt from the heart of its mountains has brought affluence to the region - but its most valuable assets are the lakes. Even before we all became travellers in search of beauty and inspiration, the banks of its picturesque lakes have attracted writers, poets and emperors.
You will visit a heart of Salzkammergut region – a fabulous town of Hallstatt, lost among the high mountains on the shore of the lake with blue azure coloured water. This place is considered to be the main view of the Alpine Austria, but no picture can show a splendid atmosphere of this town and its original character. During your free time you can walk through the narrow streets of the town and admire magnificent views of the lake and huge mountains.
On the way to Salzburg we will prepare for your meeting with the capital of classical music. Once you know the history of Austria and understand its culture and customs, you will look at the picturesque streets and squares of the old city in a completely different way.
Salzburg - a cozy beautiful town on the banks of the Salzach river, made in the baroque architectural style, the world capital of classical music, the birthplace of the great Mozart and Karajan. You will have free time to walk through the Mirabel Garden and see the house where Mozart was born, the Salzburg Cathedral and one of the oldest monasteries in Europe - the active monastery of St. Peter. You can also leave our group tour here and to Vienna at your own expenses by train.
After embracing the cultural side of Salzburg, you'll start you way back to Vienna.
We will make a short coffee break at a quality restaurant on a highway, where you can relax and enjoy a comfortable rustic atmosphere and stretch your legs during your break.
On the way back to Vienna you will have a chance to rest and plan with the help of our driver your next free days in the Austrian capital.

You better be able to walk about 4 to 5 miles on this day trip. With the time they gave us at our first stop in halstatt we had to decide whether to eat or see the town. We decided on the town and it was beautiful! Once we got to Salsburg we thought we would have time to eat. However we were dragged on a fast paced walking tour in which our guide told us we had no time for pictures. Our main tour guide told us she would be behind us in case we needed to drop out. However, when it came time for us to say that's enough due to the pace and the heat she was no where to be found. So we had to keep going til the end. With the time we had left it was again not enough time to eat but we were able to get a quick snack. This was not an enjoyable trip and we were exhausted by the time we got back to the hotel
The trip is a long way to our destiny but totally worth it, it was an amazing experience and Sophie help us and give us the best tips to make our trip even better
Beautiful guide Sofia, tells everything interesting, fun with a beautiful voice and a beautiful smile. Showed all the most beautiful places in Halsteet. The views are as beautiful as the guide herself and her eyes.
Olga was an exceptional tour guide- knowledgeable, kind, and attentive throughout our 13 hour trip. She shared fascinating information at every stop and made the entire experience enjoyable and well organized. Her professionalism, warmth, and deep knowledge truly enhanced the tour. We highly recommend this trip in general, and especially recommend taking it with Olga if you have the opportunity.
The Hallstatt, Alps, and Lakes day trip from Vienna was an unforgettable experience with breathtaking scenery throughout the journey. The drive through the Austrian Alps and picturesque lakes offered stunning panoramic views and plenty of opportunities for memorable photographs. Hallstatt itself was charming, with its beautiful lakeside setting, historic streets, and peaceful atmosphere. The tour was well organized, and the guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and informative, making the trip both enjoyable and educational. I highly recommend this day trip to anyone visiting Vienna who wants to experience the natural beauty and cultural charm of Austria in a single day.
Great experience, beautiful 😍 it’s an all day trip but it’s worth it.
It was a long day sitting on a coach for almost 9 hours. I personally think Hallstatt was the highlight of the day. Our guide was good and had a lot of knowledge.
Choose between seeing and eating, I recommend bringing picnic-style drinks and food since it starts early in the morning at 7:30 and then you either see or eat and you are tight on time, besides the fact that food and drinks are not cheap.
The day trip was really good and informative and our tour guide, Olga, was phenomenal. Definitely a tour I would recommend it for anyone wanting to see Hallstatt and Salzburg.
It had to happen eventually. Our first 1-star experience on Viator. This tour has no business being on this platform. A lousy van (or bus as they call it), with poor leg room. We are of average height and had no issues with any other tours on this multi-country vacation. The guide was okay. The pace and value are unacceptable.
