45 min

Enjoy a guided walk through Salzburg’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, where baroque beauty, alpine views, and music history come together. Beautiful burg

There’s not much in the way of “sound of music tour.” They show you the gazebo, Mirabel garden and the house where they fell in the lake but you cannot go inside or get close to what is now a hotel. Overall, it’s a nice experience to see Salzburg which is a beautiful place but don’t expect much connection to the movie.

Wonderful Day trip to Salzburg.

We had an amazing experience with our most excellent guide Marek! He was polite, extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. Marek showed us several sites from the Sound of Music along with interesting information about the movie and also about Mozart. Marek gave us lunch suggestions and other options to see during our free time which were very helpful!. The ride to Salzburg was comfortable and pleasant. Marek also provided us with water for the ride. He really made our experience 5 star! I would definitely recommend this tour!

Beautiful scenery!

Marek was a lovely and informative guide. There was only him, myself and a young couple on this tour so it was very small and that made it really nice. This was a very long day, however, it should be noted that Salzburg is a long distance from Vienna. The only downside of the day, was that we couldn’t go into any of the castles we saw as there wasn’t enough time and the tour isn’t clear about that in the description and I would not have gone had I known that. I was expecting a little more emphasis on The Sound of Music but it was ok.

Bucket List Sound of Music Tour

My friend & I had dreamed about visiting the movie locations for many years. Richard picked us up from our location in Vienna in a lovely clean car (only 2 of us) and was very polite and professional, took us to all the sites and then to old town Salzburg and even some shopping time. Although a long trip there and back was well worth the trip. We travelled back in a wild summer storm and Richard was able to get us back to Vienna as scheduled. We were each given a gift from Richard which was a lovely touch. Was a long but happy day!!

No show and they didn’t call me they were not going to come.

I got disappointed that they did not show up. Those people should not be tour operators if that’s how they are.

Operator response

We sincerely apologize for your experience. According to our system, the tour was marked as cancelled, so we were unfortunately not expecting your arrival. This was a misunderstanding rather than an intentional mistake on our side, but we completely understand your disappointment. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused and truly appreciate your feedback.

Sound of Music tour

It was so fun to see the places where the movie had their on location sites. Our guide, Maros had photos from the film to show us the scene at the different sites we visited. He also pointed out Mozart sites and told us stories about Mozart. It was cold and rainy but a delightful tour. Maros was brilliant!
