From Tangier: Day Trip to Chefchaouen and Akchour Waterfalls

Description
Visit Chefchaouen, a beautiful blue door and white-walled medina that was originally a Berber post. The main square is the heart of Chefchaouen, with the 18th-century kasbah, a central mosque, and cafes with authentic Moroccan-style menus. The market is a mix of traditional Moroccan and tourist souvenirs – it’s often very busy, but worth a visit for the bargains. On your walking tour with your guide, explore the kasbah which was built by Moulay Ismail and is now practically a ruin next to the Great Mosque. Visit the charming main square and the souks that sell an array of goods. If you head to the Jewish quarter behind the jewelry souk, you will feel the difference between it and the main Arabic feel of the town. Enjoy a small hike to discover the small waterfalls of Akchour, a natural beauty . A local tour guide is provided at Akchour.

Had an amazing full day trip! great driver and guides all around, with a lot of knowledge, answeared all questions, flexible and followed the groups needs and contributed with good vibes. Ackhour waterfalls was the perfect ending to a great day, and the hike ended with an amazing swim in the waterfall. Not much crowds, great recommendations, and good value for price. We were a group of 14 students, who all enjoyed themselves the whole day.
The description is very different from the experience. The itinerary makes it seem like we will hike Akchour waterfalls and see the Bridge of the God when neither of those things happen. It also makes it seem that we will visit the waterfalls first, then drive to Chefchaouen when it happened in reverse, which is why we couldn't hike to the Bridge of the Gods or the waterfalls. They said there wasn't enough time after we got there after Chefchaouen, which wouldn't have happened if they followed the itinierary THEY sent me. False advertising and not worth the price. The guides are nice and the vehicle is very nice as well, with good air conditioning and bottled water. That is the only plus.
Dear Isabelle, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed our nice guides, as well as the comfortable vehicle, air conditioning, and complimentary bottled water. We understand your frustration when an experience doesn't match your expectations, but we would like to gently clarify a few points regarding the tour you booked, as we strictly followed our advertised schedule: Order of the Itinerary: You mentioned that the itinerary gave the impression that the waterfalls would be visited first, followed by Chefchaouen. However, our official itinerary clearly lists Chefchaouen Medina as the first two steps of the day, followed by Akchour as the third and final destination. Scope of the Hike: You also expressed disappointment about not hiking to the Bridge of God or the larger waterfalls. Our tour description explicitly states that the Akchour portion of the trip is an allotted 1 hour and 30 minutes for a "small hike to discover the small waterfalls". The full hike to the Bridge of God is a significantly longer trek that simply cannot be accommodated on a combined day trip with Chefchaouen. We apologize that there was a misunderstanding regarding the tour description, but we assure you that there was no false advertising, and our team delivered exactly what was outlined. We appreciate your feedback and hope you had a wonderful remainder of your time in Morocco.
Magical scenery. Friendly staff. Safe driver. Wonderful day trip.
Very good in everything. For the reservation person pleasant of good advice. The driver very well, good driving, careful, attentive.
Achmed took us to this popular place and we were allowed to enjoy the view first and then enjoy a coffee very relaxed. Now in March everything is still peaceful, but in a few days the hustle and bustle up here starts and it is over with the calm.
We had a good driver Mehdi who brought us neatly where we needed to be. The tour in Chefchaouen was very nice. The walk at the falls was far too rushed. Hardly time to look anywhere! The return trip was fine again.
Chefchaouen is truly worth a trip. The waterfalls are also great. However, it is important for the participants to know in advance that you will only be at the falls for 1 hour. You can't see either the big waterfall or the natural bridge during this time, but only a few small 2-3 meter high waterfalls. Those who take part in the trip mainly because of the waterfalls will be disappointed. It would be recommended if Xauen also offered a trip from Tangier only to the falls with a 5 hour hike. Xauen offers too few tours for nature lovers, although northern Morocco has a beautiful landscape to offer.
Everything is beautiful in Aqshor, stunning views, wonderful nature, very clean atmosphere, clear water Beautiful photo and video forum in Akshur there are many picturesque views in nature wonderful cooking
Our trip to Chefchaouen was lovely. Our guide, Mohammed, was great! He explained everything well and waited for the entire group to be together before he spoke. He showed us many Instagram worthy places to have our photos taken. The town was unique and picturesque. It was hot that day. Luckily, we found a restaurant with air conditioning. Next, we went to Askour to see the waterfall. We walked alongside the river. Then we sat for a short while by the water before returning to the van. I recommend you bring a snack with you. We did have lunch at Chefchauoen, but this was a long day by the time we returned to our riad. The driver did stop along the way, where we could use the water closet and buy a snack. Nice experience.
If I could give them 6 stars I would. Abdel, our guide, was the best person we’ve ever met. He showed us many beautiful things, talked about the rich history of morocco and it’s people and went above and beyond what is to be considered normal in a tour. No question was too weird to get an answer. He even saved us from some scammers at the end! The local guides in Chefchauen and Akchour were just as friendly and amazing! Chefchauen was stunning to see, and it was really nice to learn about it’s rich history. Alchour was perfect after the hot day to refresh. All the guides helped us to see the local delicacies and get the right prices 😉 If you are on vacation in Tangier and you do not do this tour, you really are insulting yourself. It is a must see.
