From Sorrento/Nerano:Capri Shared Tour (9:15am Boat Departure)

Avoid buying the wrist bands on board the boat. My family, two adults and two teenagers, took the shared tour of Capri on 24th June from Sant'Agata at a cost of €280. We unfortunately were duped into panic buying the yellow wrist band onboard for bus transfers on the island which we paid in cash back on the boat touring around the island. The guide who sounds New Zealand with a Canadian baseball cap said that bus queues on the island were long and that to pay €28 each was only €11 more expensive than queuing up each time to buy a bus ticket. Then for good measure he said that they had two passengers the day before who missed the boat and four or five the day before. He also said that they were sharks on the island that would rip us off. When we met in Anacapri he said that the best value restaurant that they go to was "Le Arcate". He said not to eat anywhere else. Most of the yellow wrist customers went to "Le Arcate". When we were there one of the three tour guides came by our table not to check on us but to do a headcount of how many yellow wrists bands they funneled into that restaurant. This restaurant had a €12 surcharge for our meal. We never paid a surcharge in Rome for eating out. The tour guide before we broke for lunch said he could organise the chairlift for €15 each ( it only costs €14) or a bus & row boat to the Blue Lagoon for €43 ( €25 for the bus and €18 for the row boat). I've since discovered that the public bus from Anacapri to the steps near the Blue Lagoon was less than €3. We unfortunately got sucked into paying €112 for three mini bus journeys. One from the marina to Capri, then one from Capri to Anacapri and then from Anacapri back to the marina. We since discovered that we could have taken three taxis for half that price! If we had bought the all day public transport ticket it would have cost even less with the option of two rides on the Funicular which our teenagers would have enjoyed far more that a basic minibus ride. We had to wait for all of the minibus rides of ten to fifteen minutes each time. It was not faster than the public transport on the island. I unfortunately trusted the tour guide on the boat. I would be hesitant to recommend anyone taking the shared tour of Capri because of what we experienced. We spent over €500 just to see the island and eat in a restaurant. We would have more free time to explore the island by using public transport and doing our own thing than to use this basic minibus service.

We have spent the day in Capri having been picked up from our hotel and transferred to the boat. It was so easy and everyone was very helpful. As we started the tour the Lead Guide talked about Capri and what the day would entail, he was knowledgeable and entertaining it was a pleasure to listen to him! As part of the trip we could purchase a ticket which would give us access to a minibus which would take us to Capri and Anacapri, this was amazing as it stopped us having to negotiate different buses, something we did not even know we would have to do! We eventually ended up at the chairlift, the ticket allowed us to skip the line and we did not have to wait too long! The chairlift itself was amazing and something we will never forget, even though we said there was no way we were doing it! Even on the minibus the guys were friendly and informative and went out of their way to make sure everyone knew when and where we had to catch the boat back! We ended up with a tour around the island! The team were amazing and made the day really special, anyone thinking of booking this, do it, you will not regret it

This tour was a great value and well organized. A bus picked us up near our hotel and drove us right to the harbor, where we boarded the boat. The sail to Capri was fairly brief, and one of "the boys," as the guides called themselves, told us interesting facts about the region along the way. I highly recommend spending the 28 Euros per person to take the company's chartered bus to get around the island. Our guides also gave us smart advice about where to go for great sights and shopping (though their restaurant recommendation for Capri was awful—go somewhere else). They also gave us the scoop on Anacapri. The only two things about this tour that I didn't like was the extra time in Capri (the lower part of the island) before the sail back—it was hot, crowded, and there wasn't much to do. Also, on the way back our guide narrated the remainder of the trip while sitting in the front row of the ship with the window open. It seemed odd that he didn't stand up and face us as he did before, and it was difficult to understand him since his back was to us and most of the sound went out the window. Maybe he was tired? But in all, it was a very low-stress way to see Capri.

We booked two tours (Amalfi/Positano and Capri) and were absolutely thrilled! A huge plus was the start: Since our apartment is located in Massa Lubrense, we were conveniently picked up nearby by bus. Our bus driver Rosaria drove extremely well – on these narrow roads, that is truly an art! She is a very pleasant, calm driver, with whom one felt extremely comfortable and safe throughout the entire journey. Both excursions were fantastically organized and the crew was super nice. A big compliment also for the organization on site: The departure times for the return or onward journey were always expressed unambiguously, clearly, and distinctly, so that one could move around absolutely stress-free. Especially positive: You are not forced to do anything at all! Helpful extras (such as the bus tickets for Capri and Anacapri for €28 per person, which make getting around extremely easy) are offered, but completely without pressure. A very honest, fair, and friendly service. Absolute recommendation

We booked a full-day boat tour to Capri and around the island with Cooperativa S. Antonio in Nerano and can absolutely recommend it! At 70 € per person, the price-performance ratio is really great, including pickup at the accommodation, which makes for a very relaxed start to the day. In Capri, we had about 6 hours of stay, so there is plenty of time to explore the island at a leisurely pace. On-site, additional excursions are offered that can be booked voluntarily and without any pressure. For example, there is a bus tour to Capri and Anacapri for 28 € or the chairlift to Monte Solaro from Anacapri for 15 €. Or one can also visit the Blue Grotto. We took this excursion and found the experience very enjoyable. However, we felt that the price of 43 € was quite high, as the entrance on-site would have been significantly cheaper (about 12 €). Those who wish can certainly organize many things themselves. Special praise goes to our guides Giovanni and Francesco. Both organized everything perfectly, were always approachable, and were available to the guests throughout the entire tour. We particularly appreciated that they speak several languages, including German, English, Italian, and Spanish. After the stay in Capri, we also took a boat ride around the entire island of Capri. A beautiful conclusion with great views before we returned to Nerano. Thank you very much for this successful day, we would book the tour again at any time! 🌊☀️

The tour was great, the boat trip was excellent and it was well worth paying to take the bus around the island. They were really helpful organising tickets for the chairlift and for the Blue Grotto, however, a word of warning about the Blue Grotto. I wished I had asked the cost before I got on the bus, they charged 43 Euros (cash only) each, when the boat ride only costs 18 euros and you have to tip the boat man. We had already paid 28 euros each for the bus, so I think an extra 25 euros each to take us to the blue grotto was a lot, but once on the bus, there was no choice. We did enjoy the grotto and the trip.

A fabulous day that exceeded our expectations. The crew were all amazing and the tour was fantastic. Highly recommended for anyone wishing to visit Capri, without any stress.

This was a fantastic way to see Capri! The guides were very friendly and helpful with multiple languages between them and everything went very smoothly. Once onboard the boat we were given the option to pay €28 extra per person for a shuttle bus, which took us up to Capri for 1.5 hours and then to Anacapri for 3 hours, before shuttling us back down to the harbour again - there was no tour, just transport and some advice on key sights/where to find them, but for us it was the perfect compromise between tackling the logistics and getting to explore on our own. It was 100% worth the extra cost because queues for regular public buses were massive, and the guides also helped us skip the huge queue for the chairlift (which is another thing that’s definitely worth paying extra for). We finished the day with a boat trip around the whole island to see the lighthouse, rock arch etc, which was lovely. If you’re just visiting Capri for a day then this is the perfect way to make sure you see everything with a minimum of stress!
