We were picked up in an air conditioned car for our private tour. Omar, our driver got us to each place efficiently and safely and managed to avoid a lot of traffic on the way back to the hotel, which we really appreciated! Kamel, our tour guide was fantastic. He shared so much knowledge with us and was able to answer all of our questions. He showed us the most interesting parts of the museum as it was so big we couldn't have seen everything. We enjoyed hearing his stories and learning about life in Tunisia as well as all of its history. We shared a lovely meal with Kamel at lunch time as he took us to a popular local restaurant with great food. The only issue we had was with the tour company itself (not Omar and Kamel). We sent messages through the app and WhatsApp to confirm the meeting time and had no response whatsoever. We are used to doing group tours with several hotel stops, so expected a more precise time than 9am. Had we known that it would just be the two of us, we may have been less anxious about getting picked up. This is only a small thing though, based on past experience and didn't spoil the wonderful trip we had with Omar and Kamel. Thank you both for a wonderful day!

Great option

The guide and driver were excelent. Perfect timing, good pace, very complete. (I dont know why Viator forces to leave 100 characteres of review, is ridiculous.)

Let down by the lunch

Guide was good . Very disappointed with cathage. Thought it would be a better site than turned out to be Lunch very poor. Rushed into a restaurant and another party came in and they wanted us off our table and gone. Food average. My chicken piece wasn't cooked

Operator response

For a review, it is not fair to rate Carthage poorly when we are only the tour operator and do not control the site itself.

Make sure you get the full itinerary. Just returned and now realise we didn't visit the Tophet de Carthage, Carthage Aqueduct or Beb Bhar.

Excellent day tour with Kamel

Top notch private day tour to Tunis with our guide Kamel and his driver Khalifa. Picked up promptly at 9am from our hotel. Took about an hour to reach Tunis which went very quickly as we chatted with Kamel about Tunisia. His English is perfect. Wonderful time at the Bardo seeing the amazing Roman mosaics and Kamel's explanation of what we were seeing along with the other statues and artefacts. Then onto the medina where we walked through the souks to Victory Square. Next stop Carthage where Kamel explained the social significance of the Antonine Baths which were free to enter for everyone and a place for people to gather. Lunch was included and Kamel picked out a typical Tunisian restaurant where we had the local speciality starter bric. Final stop of the day was Sidi Bou Said in glorious sunshine with it's blue & white buildings and small alleyways. Highly recommend this tour with Kamel to gain an enjoyable in depth experience of the capital city Tunis.

Very good day visit ☺️

Being 2 single women for our first trip abroad we were a little afraid but Habib knew how to reassure us and accompany us in a day rich in history and discovery. The only negative point that was not specified when booking is that the bardo museum is closed on Monday. We highly recommend this outing with this driver. Thanks to Habib for accompanying us and driving safely. We will keep a very good memory of Tunisia and Habib.

Fun and Safe Day Tour in Tunis

This was a fabulous tour - we selected the option with a guide. Please note that you can book any day on the website but not everything is open daily [medina closed Sunday, Bardo closed Muesum]. We weren’t told this in advance so didn’t get to see the museum. However Kamel was a fanastic guide - we had the car to ourselves - 2 friends and felt we could ask questions when we pleased. The sites were beautiful, lunch was fantastic and felt like it was for locals, and we did lots of shopping at the Medina - helpful tip is that card is accepted throughout. Highly recommend the tour!l only tip would be to provide air con in the car as it was warm in the backseat.

We took the option for just the driver. Meris was our driver and he was very good. A very safe driver and absolutely on time at each stop. He allowed us as log ash as we wanted and delivered us back saflt. Really good
