Itinerary
Stop in Tataouine and free time to stroll through the alleys of the Souk. Do not miss the pastry shop visit to taste the famous "cornes de Gazelle" (local pastry)
Arrived at the Berber village of Chenini you will have an appointment with a stroll in the old village. You will visit with a local guide all the components of the village: mosque, houses dug in the walls of the mountain, attic ... etc.
Coffee break in Sabkhet El Melah also known as the salt lake of Chahbania. During this stop your guide will give you the detailed tour program, the visits and you will have free time to take some photos
On your arrival, you will have free time to enjoy a swim in the natural hot spring (around 25 ° throughout the year
Possibility of camel ride in the dunes of the Sahara (This ride is optional and to be paid onsite)
Possibility of quad bike ride through the great dunes of the Sahara and to visit the famous fort of Tisavar nestled in the heart of the dunes. This walk is optional and optional (to be reserved and paid for on site with local providers)
Watch the sunset over the dunes and admire the reddish colors that cover the horizon. Do not miss this unique moment
Installation in a tent at the camp. Take a shower and get ready for the evening's program and dinner.
Witness the preparation of sand bread (bread baked under the sand and the embers) around the campfire
Dinner and overnight at the camp. After dinner, you have free time so if you want to sleep, have a drink or admire the stars
Visit of a second hot water source located about 23 km from the oasis. This source is about 40 °
Visit of the Sidi Idriss hotel in Matmata. It's a troglodyte hotel where a few scenes from Star Wars were filmed (there are still some sets there)
Visit of a Berber family in their troglodyte house. On our arrival we will be greeted with a good tea, served with olive oil, honey and homemade bread (Berber welcome). You will have time to visit the place, take some photos and learn more about the Berbers. At the exit do not hesitate to thank them with a small tip please
On our arrival in Tamazret, there will be a small technical stop in a village café (toilets). This café also offers an excellent Rosemary and almond tea in addition to a unique view of the ancient village. So it will be a coffee break, a photo break and a technical break at the same time

Visit of the Ksar of Metameur: a collective granary which was used to store the harvest, cereals ... etc

Great experience to do once Thanks to driver Mourad and guide Ahmed. It's a shame that the weather was cloudy, so there was no sunset to enjoy. However, the landscapes remain breathtaking. Well-organized tourist circuit.....

A superb 2 day tour with our guide Zizou who gave us a lot of information about Tunisia and everything we visited and who showed a lot of flexibility to adapt to the desires of the group and please everyone during the 2 days. Beautiful and varied landscapes and villages, a unique experience in the desert with evening around the fire, sunset in the dunes and the camel on awakening. Very good atmosphere and excursion validated 200% by our family (couple with children 14 and 25 years old). Many thanks to ZIZOU without whom this experience would not have been the same 🙏. Impeccable driver, guide who listens to speak, so not interesting. Lots of car time to not see much. Excursion catches tourist.
Beautiful outing in the desert. 550km in 2 days but many stops that allow to pace the trip and many discoveries associated with the explanations of the guide. We were a family of 5 in a 7-seater SUV with the guide and driver. In all 3 4x4 for our excursion what remained an affordable sized group. 2 great days full of memories
It was a wonderful time from start to finish with so many wonderful memories that we gratefully took home. Our German-speaking guide Ahmed took us with him into the uniqueness of the desert with his enthusiasm for his country. It was so beautiful and the camp was very clean. The starry sky was a very special experience and we will never forget that. Quad bike and camel ride in sunrise and sunset completed this trip brilliantly. We felt in good hands and would love to experience this trip again. It was just fascinating and we even experienced 15 drops of rain in the desert....just mad
We had an extraordinary experience with Départ Travel Service, as a family (two adults and three children aged 14, 8 and 3), in the Sahara desert of Tunisia, from Djerba to Ksar Ghilane. For two full days, accompanied by an exceptional guide, Zizou, passionate and very cultured, and a very pleasant driver, we followed the discoveries without wasting a minute. Departure at 7.30am on the first day, return the next day at around 4pm, with four meals included in the total price of 500 euros for the five of us. We crossed fields of olive trees as far as the eye can see, rode on a sparkling salt lake, visited an ancient Roman fort in the Sahara, and explored several authentic Berber villages. We admired the cave houses, discovered the Star Wars filming site, now transformed into a hotel, and witnessed the artisanal making of almond and honey pastries. A visit to the Tataouine market completed this immersion in local traditions. In Ksar Ghilane, magical moment: bath in an oasis with naturally warm waters (35-40°C) from a 100-meter borehole, in an idyllic setting, in the middle of the desert. We were able to swim on arrival, then the next morning. All with breathtaking scenery, magnificent views and a grand spectacle along the way. It is one of the most beautiful trips we have made, out of time, rich in emotions and perfectly organized. Thank you to the entire Depart Travel Service team for this unique adventure. Very good trip. Our zip guide and our heater Murad were up to it. Beautiful landscapes. However, remember to bring all your toiletries to the camp. There's no bath towels or soap.

Simply amazing, beautiful, exotic! Over 2 days, the tour is perfect! We were caught on time at our hotel, our guide Zizou and driver Walid were amazing, super friendly, they explained a lot of very interesting things. We have seen plenty of historic places, with hard-hitting explanations! Everything went very well! I really recommend because no negatives!
