Your personal tour leader will pick you up at your accommodation/port in Catania, and you will start your wonderful private travel to the highest active volcano in Europe. Driving by comfortable, air-conditioned car through the small authentic mountain villages, you will admire unforgettable picturesque views of Sicilian countryside full of oranges and lemon plantations, olives and almond trees, houses and churches built of lava stone. Enjoying amazing sea view and lava fields, you will arrive to a charming mountain town Zafferana Etnea, where you will visit local honey store and taste the produce of the fertile volcano land - honey, olive oils, olives, wines and liquors. We recommend wearing comfortable closed-toe shoes and bringing extra layers, such as something warm and a windbreaker or rain jacket, to be prepared for changing weather conditions.
You will continue to ascend Etna reaching "Rifugio Sapienza" station at 2000mt. Here you can visit famous Silvestri Craters, admire breathtaking panoramas, visit souvenir shops offering gifts of lava, refresh yourself in some bar or restaurant. Optional ascent by cable car/4X4 with an authorized Alpine guide to 3000mt. After visiting Mt.Etna, the guide will chauffeur you in relax to one of the best wineries on Etna slope. At the winery you will have will have a tour of the estate, see how the grape is growing, and visit the cellars, while the expert sommelier explains you all about the wine making process and the history of this family run winery. Then you will have traditional delicious lunch of locally produced cheeses, salami, prosciutto, fresh bread, olives and home-made olive oil and a typical pasta dish. A professional sommelier will offer you 4 glasses of Sicilian Etna red and white wines. After the tour, your guide will drop you off at your accommodation or port in Catania.

We were on a field trip with Elena today, May 9, going to Etna volcano and the winery. We often travel and have visited many countries, we want to note that this tour will be among the top 5 excursions around the world! Really enjoyed everything, the stories and comfortable driving of Elena's car, the incredible beauty of Etna and the scenery during the whole journey! Learned a lot of interesting things and we're taking a lot of impressions out of Sicily! We also had an amazing lunch and wine tasting at the winery! Just gastronomic ecstasy, we're thrilled! We really enjoyed our trip to Mt Etna with our guide Omar. He was a delight to travel with and met our every need. We visited an apiary as well and tasted multiple honey flavors. The lunch at the winery was delicious and it was situated on a mountain ridge with wonderful views. A great experience not to be missed!
It was a great experience. Our driver Leo and guide Davide were great. We spent just the right amount of time on Etna (for us), went to a Lava Cave, a Honey Tasting and finally to a winery. The winery amd lunch were great. Would highly recommend!
We actually did two tours with Prestelli - this one and the six hour tour to 3 wineries. The tour guides were top notch - Alessandra for our Mt. Etna tour, and Elena for the winery tours. Both were extremely knowledgeable as well as wonderful to talk to. We highly enjoyed walking around Mt. Etna and were lucky to have a beautiful day with clear views. The company itself was extremely easy to deal with. Highly recommend using them!
One of the best experiences we have as a family. Our guide Marco was wonderful. Helpful knowledgeable and still let us have our time. The trip to mount Etna was fun and the winery trip was fab. The food was lovely different wines were perfectly introduced and explained. Would highly recommend this tour and especially ask for Marco as a guide. The special wine gifted to us as we celebrated a birthday was also a nice touch.
Private tour. Punctual service, picked up from the hotel, English speaking driver Roberto was great. Had a lovely tour of making honey by hand and tasting local oils and wine. Fabulous guide and tour on mount Etna . Then had a great lunch and tasted two wines in a small old winery. The surroundings were stunning and beautiful. Would recommend this tour and a lot cheaper than booking via Viator tours. Fabulous day to celebrate our Pearl wedding anniversary 🎉
Excellent day seeing Mt Etna and learning about the volcanic process. Antonio was an outstanding guide. Excellent English, positive and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time with him! The lunch was excellent. Very generous and we tasted one sparkling, two white and two red wines. A special day. Take this trip - you’ll learn a lot from Antonio and enjoy a lovely lunch!

We had a very great day! Manuele picked us up directly from our hotel. He was really informed about the Etna and the land around the volcano. We also stopped during they way as he showed us some details which you will definitely miss without a guide. The Etna itself was amazing! After we got some great facts about volcanos we had the opportunity for a break in the small restaurant up the mountain. We than received at the vineyard. So beautiful! The winemaker gives us a interessting visit and explained how to make wine. The food we got served was amazing and all the wine we got to try fit great. Definitely a tour to recommend!
