The oldest free royal borough TRNAVA was the Church "capital" of the Kingdom of Hungary for several centuries in the past. Now it is the centre of the dynamically developing area that stretches between Bratislava and Nitra. TRNAVA(population 69,500) is the natural centre of region of Dolné Považie, the seat of both the district and regional administration and the seventh biggest town of Slovakia. Trnava is the seat of the Trnava University and the University of Sts. Constantine and Methodius, and since 1978 the Slovak metropolitan seat of archbishop. The centre of the town has been designated the Town Monument Reserve in 1987. Fans of arts and music know the event bearing the name of important composer native of Trnava - Trnavská hudobná jar M. Sch. Trnavského (The Trnava Musical Spring of M. Sch. Trnavský). The event bears the name of an important composer, the local native.

Maria, our guide, was local and had great knowledge of Trnava but also a deeper knowledge of Slovakian history. Really interesting tour and in good company.
Thank you so much for your kind review! 😊 We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour with Maria and appreciated her knowledge of both Trnava and Slovak history. It’s wonderful to know that the experience was interesting and enjoyable in such good company. We will be sure to pass your lovely feedback on to Maria. We hope to welcome you again on another tour in Slovakia soon! 🇸🇰
The historic center is small but very beautiful, it is worth a visit for a couple of days, the inhabitants are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, the city is well equipped with public transport and is also easy for car traffic, a sore point are the car parks, those who intend to visit the city by car, also to be able to move around and visit the Devin castle which is about fifteen kilometers from Bratislava and is certainly worth a visit or other neighboring cities must take into account that if they do not have a parking provided by the accommodation will have to park on the street. On weekdays you pay 1.50 euros per hour from 8.00 to 24.00 for an outlay of 24 euros per day! Don't hope to find spaces in free car parks, there simply aren't any, not even in peripheral areas except for small car parks near shopping centers which I always found full. Food prices both in restaurants and in supermarkets are in line with the average Italian prices.
