As an example, you could discover the so charming city of Biarritz. It used to be a whaler village, until the empress Eugénie (Napolean III's wife) made the place very fashionable in the late XIX°. Your guide can take you for a walking tour to enjoy the scenic view of the ocean, the typical historic architecture, Napoleon's Palace, the authentic fishermen port, the lighthouse. An opportunity to stroll the streets, explore the local stores, or just relax on the beach and enjoy the ocean view.
Another stop could be the small village of Espelette, a picturesque village famous for its sweet peppers, that you will see drying on the facades of the houses. You will for sure fall under the spell of this authentic basque village with its typical architecture.

Espelette was my favorite town in the basque region. The landscape and how Green it was reminded me of Latin America. Loved all the history about the use of pepper and how it is sun dried on the house’s front porch. Best meal in France was in a tiny restaurant in this town. Loved all the pepper infused condiments including the ketchup, honey, salt and sauce. Biarritz was very nice. Thank you Jeremy (our wonderful guide) for such an amazing experience!

It was wonderful to visit and learn about the Basque Country from our guide who we found to be very flexible, accommodating obliging and respectful. It was so convenient to be picked up and dropped back at our hotel by our driver/guide who was a good safe driver. We saw a lot in 10 hours due to the efficiency of our driver despite the volume of traffic and minimal parking options. Taking this one day tour was a good option to get a taste of the Basque Country.
Awesome experience ! Guide Xavier was professional, knowledgeable, interesting and funny. We always felt safe as he was driving. Very comfortable. It was a long day, to be sure (8am-7pm). I highly recommend the Basque Country tour.
