From Akureyri Port: Godafoss Waterfall Tour for Cruise Ships (V)

Description
A scenic and memorable excursion in Iceland to the majestic Godafoss Waterfall. Godafoss is one of the most spectacular and historic waterfalls in Iceland. The name means the "waterfall of the gods". The waterfall is about 12 meters high (36 feet) and 30 meters wide (90 feet), and it forms a horseshoe shape that creates a stunning spectacle of water and mist. You will have about 45 minutes to explore the waterfall and take photos of this natural wonder. After admiring the waterfall, you will board the bus again and head back to Akureyri but not exactly the same way. You will drive through the beautiful Fnjoskadalur Valley, up to the mountains and down to the Eyjafordur Bay with astonishing view. The Eyjafjordur Bay is the longest in Iceland, and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Before you arrive to Akureyri the bus will stop at the Akureyri Viewpoint so you can enjoy the view over the town of Akureyri, the Bay and the mountains, and take pictures!

This was one of the highlights of our time in Iceland! Goðafoss is absolutely breathtaking, and the excursion was well organized from start to finish. Our guide, Neil, truly made the experience exceptional. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. Throughout the tour, he shared interesting information about Iceland’s history, culture, and landscape while making everyone feel welcome. He was also happy to answer questions and made sure everyone had plenty of time to enjoy the waterfall and take photos without feeling rushed. If you’re visiting Akureyri, I highly recommend this excursion. The scenery is incredible, and if you’re lucky enough to have Neil as your guide, you’re in for a fantastic experience!
This trip was about 2.5 hours and the journey was filled with excellent commentary from our guide sharing history & interesting facts about Iceland & this area in particular. We had around 45 minutes at the falls which was plenty of time to walk around. The route went a different way back which made it interesting. They were very accommodating for everyone on the tour. Highly recommend.
Amazing tour and fantastic guide and driver! Very informative, educational and easy to understand. Departure and return were timely and description of advertised tour was accurate. Our first experience with Viator and will definitely not be our last. Thank you!!
Great experience. Easy to get to from cruise terminal. Guide was great and informative. Ran right on schedule.
A 21/2 hour tour to the Godafoss Waterfall with a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable and provided plenty of information about not only the waterfall but the history and daily life of the area.
It was very easy to find the tour when we got off the ship. The tour guide was very interesting; he was born in Akureyri, so we had great insight into the area. The Godafoss Waterfalls were absolutely beautiful. It was an extremely windy day, but the sun was out, so we were able to completely enjoy the waterfalls. We don't have any comparison with other tour operators regarding the admission fee; however, it was clearly much less expensive than booking through the ship. The length of time at the waterfall seemed about right. Thank you for making this fun for us.
Excellent guide, reasonable price , back to ship with plenty of time Comfortable coach, great experience
Guide picked Us up at Cruise Port, nice drive through City. Guide very informative. Weather unpredictable some Sun some rain, be prepared. We also had very high winds at falls. Worth the trip Spectacular site, Hugh place views everywhere. Gift shop, restaurant & restrooms with fee. Many, many other tourists there.
Left stranded at the waterfalls with no way to return after having gone to the bathroom with their okay. Another operator having seen everything rescued us, despising their colleagues, shameful.
Great trip. Good driver. Learned a lot about the area and Iceland from guide on board. Enjoyed this tour immensely.
