Worth the money

It’s was ok, only 18 euros, around 16 pound.. I thought I would get a translation headset as it asks you while booking your preferred language. But no, it just a voice coming over a speaker (that was very difficult to hear from where I was sitting (near the front where the bar is) so I would recommend sitting near the middle if you want to hear the history behind the different sights. It is broadcasted in German then in English. Top Top! For refreshments at the bar, take cash with you as it is cash only.

Avoid - Not an "Expert" Tour. Unprofessional and Uninformed.

I booked a private tour for myself, my brother, and my boss, expecting a professional historical overview of Frankfurt (May 2026). What we received was a 70-minute walk (advertised as 2 hours) with a guide who was a kind person but completely unqualified. The Issues: 1. Booking: They sold us a tour time they could not fulfill. They texted us asking if we could go much later that day which was not convenient for us but we accepted. 2. Communication: The guide was not at the meeting point at the agreed time and was difficult to find because they didn’t provide us with any information that would let us identify him. We started 25 minutes late as a result. 3. Zero Historical Knowledge: The guide struggled to explain basic facts. He misidentified Paulsplatz (the cradle of German democracy) as the Cathedral and gave us incorrect information about the memorials in Römerberg. He didn't tell us anything about the iron bridge as we walked over it and told us basically nothing about Goethe House despite them being “stops” on the tour. He was not German and had only been in Frankfurt for 4 months. 4. Language Barrier: His English was very poor, making it difficult to understand the few facts he did attempt to share. 5. Early Exit: He ended the tour nearly an hour early and dropped us off at a closed shopping mall for a "rooftop view" that was inaccessible because it was closed. We learned more from a quick Google search after the tour than we did from the guide himself. If you want to actually learn about Frankfurt, look elsewhere. This was a waste of time and money and the worst tour I have ever experienced.

Detailed and Engaging - a Fantastic Walking Tour of Munich

Josh provided an incredibly detailed overview of the significant events that led to the rise of the Nazi Party in Munich during the post WWI period. He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and managed to provide a narrative full of specific events while tying those events to current circumstances across the world. One of the very best tours I have ever been a part of!

Do not book this tour. Not as advertised and is a waste of money and time.

Do not book this tour. This is the first negative review I've ever written, which should tell you something — I genuinely want to spare future travelers the frustration I experienced. The tour is advertised as a 2-hour English-language walking tour of Frankfurt. What you actually get is something far short of that promise. Our guide, Cristian, was a Spanish exchange student who had been living in Frankfurt for only a few months and spoke limited English. Through no fault of his own, he lacked both the language fluency and the local knowledge that a paid tour requires. The result was long stretches of silence, punctuated only by the name of whatever building we happened to be standing in front of — something you could do with Google Maps. There was virtually no historical context, no cultural insight, and no storytelling. The tour also ended at the 75-minute mark, well short of the 120 minutes listed on the booking page. I don't blame Cristian — he seemed like a genuinely kind person doing his best. The blame sits entirely with the tour operator, who is clearly sending undertrained, underqualified guides out to represent a paid product without any apparent vetting or preparation. That's not a guide problem. That's a company problem. Save your time and money.

Operator response

Good overview of the city...

Good overview of the city to help give the lay of the land but not a lot of facts/history. This would not be the right tour if you want that type of info. Tour guide was friendly and offered to take photos of our family along the way. English was adequate but have had other tour guides that were more fluent.

Tour Guide was Incapable

We took this tour on April 29, 2026 through Viator. The tour guide who was assigned to us was a well intentioned, polite young man named Cristian. Unfortunately, Cristian's command of the English language was quite limited. He had only lived in Frankfurt for one year, so his knowledge of the city was also very limited. When we asked him questions about the buildings, the river, and some of the statues, there were times when he either did not understand what we had asked (due to his limited English) or he was not familiar enough with the area to know the answers to our questions. At some of the sites, he pulled his phone out of his pocket to look up the details about the location, and we could tell from what he said that this was something he had just read from a website. He did not know the history of Frankfurt. After the first 30 minutes of our tour, I contacted the Tour coordinator to let them know that the tour was not going well - as the tour guide was having difficulty remembering English words, etc. I didn't get any response. We did complete the tour, but found it very disappointing. The following day and week, I communicated with Viator and the tour coordinator to explain in detail how the tour was definitely NOT worth the $144 we had paid to Viator. (Because there were 4 of us in the group, and we were each charged $36.) After multiple emails and phone calls, Viator agreed to a partial refund of $36, which leaves us paying $108 for a tour that could be considered a waste. I would not have spent spent my time communicating with Viator if our group was only slightly disappointed with the tour.  We received a tour that fell short of any reasonable expectations. We will no longer consider Viator when we are shopping for tours.

Short walk in Frankfurt

Exploring the historic square was a true masterclass in modern architecture. The transition from intricate German houses to the bold contemporary skyscrapers is captivating. The sheer variety ensures there's something to resonate with every visitor. It's recommended to allow 1.5 to 2 hours to fully appreciate the highlights at a leisurely pace. Frankfurt strikes a perfect balance between grand classical elegance and sophisticated modern minimalism. It's a stylish yet welcoming place. The staff is professional and friendly, offering helpful information about German culture and local customs. Ideal for art lovers, history buffs, and anyone seeking a cultural escape on a sunny day in Frankfurt.

A total disaster of TripAdvisor and this Tour operator

Our tour guide Cristian couldn’t speak a proper English . He has little knowledge about Frankfurt and the tour. ( he need to google in front of us to identify the name of the statue) I called off the tour half way and requested a full refund. Both TripAdvisor and The operators refused to do. I am deeply disappointed. TripAdvisor should have filter quality your operator and protect the interest of their customer. They just sent me an cool email expecting to accept the facts
